New Scenario Ideas
So if you’re like me and have really enjoyed playing this game you’ve already played through all the missions and scenarios and are currently in an eager state for that coming soon slot to open! In the meanwhile, I’ve come up with a few ideas of what I personally would think would be cool stories/scenarios to have in the game. I’d really like to hear what you all have thought up as well, so post yours too!

Icebreaker scenario:

A group of survivors decide they want to try and head south instead of north. Discontent by the endless frozen wasteland they’ve seen, they want to try something different than what all the others are doing. They set up a city near a frozen waterway to build a large icebreaker ship. The icebreaker will need many Steamcores, lots of iron and coal, and a good amount of wood. A large portion of food for the journey will also be needed.

The main challenge will be completing the ship in time for the massive negative 238F storm that we see during the main New Home campaign. Along with getting the needed resources quickly, word of the ship has spread and several groups of survivors start arriving at the city also wanting out of the frozen landscape. The ship can take several hundreds of people, but not everyone…

The people left behind could be another part of the challenge, such as the Seed Ark mission where you need to have a lot of coal and food to prepare for the future, in hope the humans can live on along with the machines. This would also mean the player has to deal with a lot of discontent and low hope of not everyone fitting in the ship. Extreme measures would probably have to be done in order to maintain order.

Tesla technology city:

Like we saw with the Tesla city in the New Home mission, another American ship gets separated from the main group and lands a great distance away in a new location. Perhaps some of the early mission is greatly focused on trying to find Tesla again but later on is deemed ultimately hopeless; they’re on their own (hope falls!). But the mission still remains, make a city with the goal of researching and upgrading the generator to turn it into a shield field to keep the frost at bay.

I think this would be a cool new way to introduce another resource to the game play, electricity! Coal power plants can be built to supply it, the base generator can as well (when upgraded) but it won’t be nearly enough on its own. Something also like hot springs near the city, similar to the locations for placing iron and coal mines would be nifty as well, so the player can place hot spring power generators.

To make all this power tons of coal will be required, probably meaning a struggle for the player to make two outposts just for coal collection. This would also put a high demand on wood to be turned into a coal source too. Another challenge I see for this mission would be a low amount of people during the scenario, since the ship landed so off course and therefore far away from other cities. Therefore the player will have to really put effort into saving people and not having them die, or least make sure prosthetics are made along with several automatons.

Supply post Scenario:

This mission would take place/start in an already relatively well established city, meant to be a resupply stop for all the Snowcats heading up north. Throughout the mission you’ll have to provide ample food and coal to the massive machines arriving and leaving, along with occasional iron for repairs and some medical help for the travelers. This could be a big stressing point, do you prioritize medical aid to the travels for the day before the Snowcats leave (as you’ve been ordered too), or for your own citizens?

As time goes on, more Snowcats appear closer together and increasing frequency. Some might have run out of Steamcores and ask of you to supply some. The weather also gets colder more often, it’s becoming apparent people are leaving London in a panic not as well prepared as earlier. Do you decide to stop supporting the arriving Snowcats to focus on your own city survival when it starts getting grim looking? Maybe a group of people like the Londoners begin demanding you let them leave with the Snowcats. Or if it gets really grim looking, you choose to apprehend unsuspecting Snowcats for their recourses…

A New Future scenario:
Plays out almost exactly like A New Home, but on a different map. After you survive the Great Storm you're tasked with rebuilding humanity, starting with Winterhome. You assign a mayor to watch over New London, and set out to rebuild Winterhome (Or whatever the name of the second city is on the new map).
The new city would have it's own Book of Laws, and there would be another Book of Laws to goven all cities. However, since it's assumed everyone who wasn't in New London froze during the Great Storm the new city wouldn't take place over days like the original, but over months and years. You'd not only have to manage resources, but also birth rates and migrations between cities. The Laws would be handled by the Book of Laws that govern all cities.
Additional situations would be finding another City that survived the Great Storm, but they went over The Line and now you're in conflict with them and must resolve it by any means necessay. Either peacefully, or forefully.
Every few years there'd be another Great Storm to shake things up, and over time you'll have more cities to manage with an ever expanding map. Until finally you'll have a whole country.

This is basically my idea of how an Endless mode would play out.

I was thinking something similar to Spore. Where you'd have different era or whatever and each one would be different.

i do really think the tesla city is a good idea. maybe not exactly that way but i do think it could be a tech or electric book of laws that upgrade the generator to be a sheild generator

No hope.

Reactor is dead, only hope is to repair one of the ships/steam trains and go to another city before temperature falls too low.

But not only surviving is enough, you need to "buy" your entry to the new city by hoarding X resources for each people. (or go to war with them but again, need resources to battle ^^).

And at same time more survivors are coming....

so how many you will be able to save? :).
