DRMfree version of the game
Okay- So I made the mistake of buying this game on GOG and got a DRMfree version of the game, thinking I'd be getting a steam key from my purchase.

Is it possible to get a steam key from the developers from my GoG purchase?

Or if there are anybody on steam wanting a DRM free version and can gift me a steam code, I can give you my DRM free game instead.

To be fair, most 3rd-party sellers do give Steam keys when purchasing from them, such as Fanatical, Humble Bundle, CDKeys, GAME, and whatever other online stores you can think of. Only game I've ever gotten off GOG was Neverwinter Nights when they were giving it away for free, which I knew was DRM-free because it's not available on Steam... I wouldn't have known any better if I were to buy something from GOG that's usually available on Steam either, especially if it's a brand new game :p

You don't get a Steam key from GOG.

If you want the game on steam you'll have to buy it on steam

How dense are you to expect a Steam key from GOG lol.

I know. I thought I was getting one. I didn't do my research before buying. Trust me. I feel dumb. Thanks for making me feel better.

I've purchased games from Humble Bundle before and from Paradox and other places. I've always gotten a key to activate the product to steam. So I always thought a product code for owning the game would be something you always get to activate a game on steam. Guess I'm learning this the hard way.

GOG isn't 3rd party seller, it's a digital distribution platform much like Steam, Uplay or Origin.
They have their own client called Galaxy except they don't require to use it whatsoever with exception of couple modern games with online components (and you can still opt to not use it if you're not interested in online portion of the game).
