How to cure the "gravely ill"
I first mistook them for amputees... Even made em new arms and stuff. Sad now. No zyborgs.

Anyways. How do i cure em? Do i have to wait till i choose the "path" thingy?

you should be able to cure them with a hospital but i'm not sure, i had in my playthrough alot of gravely ill around 40 on day 15-20, once i build a hospital / house of healers, they started to get less (cured?)

Care house and let em die pretty much

Health building will cure them (well turn them into amputees) but you need risk procedures to do so (unless theres 2 types).

The infirmary on tier 3 tech treats them.

You can either take the radical treatment law to treat em with basic medical tents turning some of em into amputees, or build an infirmary later which can heal them with no penaltys.

Medical Post: Only heals normal ill people. Can keep gravely ill alive with "sustain life" law. Can turn graverly ill into cripples via "radical treatment" law.

Care House: Keeps gravely ill and cripples alive with half food costs.

Infirmary: Heals ill and gravely ill people. Heals cripples if prothesis are available. Prothesis can be produced in the factory after the prothesis law has been signed.

the best way are infarmys, problem of those is that they cost 1 steam core each so you most likely wont build toomany of those, so if your seriously in need to thread the sick go for radical treatment (i dont like that way) OR faith path to build the hosue of healing, the house of healing isnt as good as an infarmy but threat them and can be combined with some infarmys like build 3 of each and your kinda fine eve with all refugees.

Yes, house of treatment is a good alternative to the infirmary. It is slower and needs more space compared to an infirmary, but it does not cost a steam core and does not need engineers. I didn't know about it when i wrote the last post, since i took the order path.

Radical treatment is not so bad as it looks at the beginning, once you have a factory that can produce a prothesis for 10 steel. Turning amputees into healthy people with a prothesis works even if you just have a medical tent. Maybe even without?

I don't start producing prostheses until I have reduced the production cost via research and yes, a medical facility is required for them to be fitted, which you can see from viewing the patient activity at the care home = "going to get fitted for a prosthesis", at which point the patient visits a medical facility for the fitting.

Always half-expecting one of them to tweet "I never asked for any of this"...

I'm stuck with one annoying child refusing to get a prosthetic. I have over a dozen spare available, yet the cretin just stays in the care home giving me that annoying red cross "gravely ill" tag, even though there is plenty of doctors / resources available. He is literally the only one in the colony that is sick, and doesn't want to get himself cured - yet the conditions are too good for him to be at any risk of getting any further sickness and dying off. Anything I can do, or do I have to freeze everyone until he dies off and re-populate the colony from scouted survivors?

gravely ill cannot receive prosthetics unless they are also amputees. (i'm not sure if those conditions can overlap, but i'd be surprised if they couldn't)
if you do not have a functioning infirmary, and have not signed radical treatment, you will be unable to cure him. sustain life will keep him alive, but will not cure him without an infirmary.

He is an amputee, I have infirmary and radical treatment - all the other cripples got their limbs reattached except for this guy who refuses treatment apparently. He just sits in the care house all day, and when I destroyed that sat at home without even going to the infirmary or medical post.

Decided to do a "controlled depopulation", turned generator down to 1 and slowly froze all the citizens to death keeping watch towers and propoganda centre staffed till the end to crush any dissent or resistance and keep them desperately hanging on to whatever little hope those structures provide. Eventually, the 400 or so people died and my city got down to almost single digit population (due to the few scout units that survived outside the city walls) in an attempt to cull this kid - and despite all that, he is still stuck on "brink of death" and just refuses to die. At this point I think he's just bugged :(

ah, that sucks - sorry for assuming you were earlier in the game. i've found w/ tech support stuff its best to first assume something basic is going wrong, but that isn't always the case
i'd suggest switching off your medical facilities to see if that helps, but either way that sounds like a really awful bug :/

Tried switching off / deleting and rebuilding all medical facilities also. I think if wiping out every living soul in the city to get rid of this one kid isn't enough, than nothing else will work :*(
