Second scenario - how to send relief expedition to New Manchester?
So at some point in Ark scenario you get to send relief to New Manchester. I have gathered all the necessary materials (wood, steel and automaton) but it seems I can't send my scouts with those materials. Same when I try to do the same with scouting automaton.

Anyone figured out how it's supposed to work?

You need to go to Scout panel, and click arrow to the right where you would recruit your scouts.
Not really the best place to put it there, but makes some sense.

Check out the beacon, theres an arrow pointing right where you can select different expedition types to create, one of which is "send aid on automatron" which takes your resources and ferries it across automatically.

Well, that didn't work. 900+ of all resources, 3 idle automatons, and another auto scout party at new manchester. Objective still disabled

The scout that triggered the message have to return to town before you can do that.

Done, and sent another one after that. Scenario over so left my review and off I go. Disappointed in the game, expected more than a lightweight Anno

Thanks, managed to save New Manchester and all Arks on my second play through this scenario (ran out of time to send the last mission the first time).

Yeah, the placement for the aid automaton is really awkward.

Can you explain exactly how did you make it?

Knowing what was needed for all 3 missions I basically set my production towards that goal.
Built workshop and rushed scouts as soon as possible to get cores and resources, then built 2 more workshops and added second team as soon as I could afford it. Went 2 coal mines, 2 forges, and a mill.
Getting wood and steel was not really difficult once you get things going relatively well, trick was to produce enough food. This is where I failed the first time, as it took too long to get it.
This time I had 4 industrial hothouses built as soon as first mission was away, sent food when it hit the mark and coal immediately afterwards as I had it hoarded already. Still had 5 days until the storm, dismantled all hothouses bar one and used free cores to produce charcoal klins and man them with automatons. Added 3 more workshops to rush production upgrades on coal mines and tomatons, added wall drill to feed the klins and reached objective with 3 days left.

Let me rephrase: I know how to fulfill the needed objective. I fail to understand how to deliver the stuff (wood+steel+automaton) to the city

Says so in the first two posts... I don't know what else can I add...

Oh, right, the arrow!

Did you get achievements for finishing it, or have to survive through the storm like in the main campaign? I saved New Manchester and was preparing my own town for the storm when the end game screen came up and just said about keeping our humanity and that we did our best, I didn't actually have to survive through a storm which surprised me, the game just ended as soon as I finished the preparation quest. It didn't mention anything about the plants either and I didn't get any achievements related to the Ark.

Same here, but I got the achievements. Not sure if it said anything about the arks in the ending text.

The scenario ends as soon as you finish preparations. I assume that not doing that in time is a fail condition.
