The new map I played on hard than extreme to play around for 7 hours of entertainment so far. I’m pritty well done with the map and want the full campaigns now but it was enough to get me back in the game so was worth the cost. To boot wasent even 5 bucks as with the season pass it’s discounted.
I don’t get how people complain about getting a few hours of entertainment for the price of a coffee where if I want to go out the price of parking or gas to get there alone not including what you do will often end up as more than 5 bucks.
Plus you can earn 5 bucks by going to the supermarket and helping unload/returning the cart of basicly any old person you find. Norm get a buck or two as a tip when you do it. Often when bringing my own stuff out see a old person with a loaded cart offer to help not expecting anything and get that. So the cost is really quite small vs what you get.
It’s only makes sense since others in the industry charge that plus pirates making it so people will steal it if they charge more. Not since it should be that low. The avg movie I watch costs about as much as a game when you add in the pop popcorn and tickets for only 3-4 hours entertainment.
Generally Expansions are equal or cheaper to the base game, and give you roughly 33%-66%~ more content along with changes to the base game itself.
Right now, we see one part of that the Rifts which is... an expansion mode with one new gimmick, bridges. Instead of the large amount of other ideas and speculations on the forums (repealing laws + events involving that, more random event chains, new research, ectera) we get bridges and the maps from the scenario now in Endless.
Which... is neat and all but what about all these other cool ideas? Where is any of that?
Edit: This game has lots of potential and a large room to add/do new cool things. We haven't seen this fully used yet. Bridges are neat but that's like, not the step you want to start with when introducing a big price tag.
TLDR: The expansion started off rather... unexcitedly. If it had started off with 'Big new Scenario + changes to the base game' people would be praising it, with Rifts as a mid-point here's this to tide you over till the next big chunk. People would be more receptive.
I personally dont mind - but to be honest the price for just small thing is not exactly fair.
There's a lot of ideas for expansions among the community.
Literally no one said, "I can't wait until we get new maps for endless mode!! And you know what? BRIDGES!@@!"
And that's what we got for $5, lol. I ordered the season pass, so I'm all for supporting the devs with money. But only when they make content I actually want. It sounds like The Last Autumn is more of what I wanted in the first place. I refunded The Rifts.
Buy part of it first then buy the pass and refund the part. I never tried or did this.
