There's no shame in turning the difficulty down. You can always put it back up later.
No pause in survivor mode ;). No save either.
75% of the time, it's better not to promise heat and take the slight discontent.
Or you have to be sure the weather forecast is in your favor, you have enough fuel or you have a generator upgrade planned.
Be careful if you upgrade housing: if you make a bunker or house from a tent you may expel someone during construction...
I'll suggest you try more or/and watch some playthrough videos. There are bunch of people who try stupid ideas such as no generator run or stuff like that on survival mode and still succeed. I can recommend you figuring out the law pathways and min-maxing. I can also recommend reading some guides, these might help.
Never ever promise to heat homes :)
Lastly, there is no pause button in ironman mode HOWEVER building mode pauses the game, so just press B and think for a bit if you need a little bit of time
My tech only at level 2. Cannot even handle the two pre storm temperatures drop. Guess. It doom for now.
to be honest i have gone from watching a playthrough to damn that looks interesting, during which i thought but i didnt like that ending. to buying the game, now im like its just too much to enjoy it half the time im getting fed up with the demands and just running max speed whilst saying fck you just get on with it
i think its taken it too far in the wrong direction and needs easing off a tad, more so on the very very easiest setting, but thats my view
