means crappy games like Stardew Valley copy&pasta from classics like Harvest Moon.
Indie = copycat games
made by 4 or 5 folks
it's tagged as indie ( <<<<<<<<<< and I really run away from indie games, I only buy/play AAA games)
you won't find a single indie game on my steam inventory, so... nothing against this game, in case it is an indie game).
More infos about ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lame crappy indie games I have complained about:

(again, nothing against Frostpunk developers, but I need to know in case this is an indie game so I don't step in sh**)
I am here to listen, even if I fully disagree on someone's perspective. :) If this thread goes totally off the rails - I will lock it up, don't you worry. :)
Answering the initial question, though. We like to call ourselves Premium Indie. We are not 3 guys sitting in a basement and coding (nothing against them, we LOVE the indie spirit!) - we have about 90 employees right now, we are not only developing but also publishing games - it wouldn't be fair to call us "indie" anymore.
Would I call Frostpunk an indie game? Not in terms of technological or mechanical solutions. It's a complex game, full of quality stuff. But I would say that it is indie at heart. Why? We believe it's fresh, it twists the genre, it offers something totally new. It's quite risky to make this kind of game, to be honest. And for us - usually "indie" games take this kind of risks (again, we love AAA titles as well - but they tend to play it safe quite often).
I hope that somewhat answers your question, Mittzu, and I really hope you will grab Frostpunk and enjoy it. :) Also, there are plenty of great indie games out there - give them a chance, I am sure you will find something you will like!
Cheers, folks!
Thanks and cheers.
That's the spirit! :)
of coruse they never do I mean just look tribes and halo or everquest and world of warcraft or ... well any tripple a mmo.....
I mean I have Indie and Big company games that I play. I just think the term indie is a bit elitist and implies some moral high ground off the bat which it dosn't....
Anyway this is on my wishlist and looking forward to play!
