Lol, So, it's not really worth it for me to accumulate this now, it's more worthwhile to sell the items and when something comes out I'll see what those coins are worth.

I'd argue its more worth it to exchange them for coins then sell them on the market, alot of the butts, even the rare ones, only go for 3-7 cents a pop, and even then if your selling something for 0.05, your only getting 0.03 back due to fees.

my advice: play everyday for your 5 crates, sell the duplicates you get to ama coins, and only trade something on the market if its at least selling for 0.09,

the only ones that are selling at high prices/ high volumes are the holiday/spooky crates, its more worth to save up amacoins for a future event that you can trade in coins for rare crates that most likely will never be in the game again.

TLDR: trade butts for coins for future even, its not worth putting them on the market unless its a holiday crate/butt

I liked your idea, I can even make some "money" from the sales. I've even bought games on sale, mainly indie games, but I'm going to convert the repeated butts and collect coins. As you said, I didn't know about this idea of special boxes and now I'm going to be aware of them.

They are usually available to trade for event crates, but there isn't an event crate right now.

honestly probably the first nice reply I've gotten on the steam forums, and np hope it works out for ya

like I said there will most likely be another event soon, been grinding for a few months now, the drop rates are not that great, with that in mind your best bet is the coins, and when a event does happen you can use them to get those crates instead of relying on luck.
I have been collecting coins for a while. My biggest problem is not remembering to log in every day. But when they discontinued the holiday crate, I decided to start opening butts. It is worth noting that the rarest butts can exchange for 20 or more AMA coins. It might even be worthwhile to buy the ones that are on sale for 3 cents. You need to exchange 20 crates to get 200 coins for a specialty crate. So you can either pay for really fast coins or grind it out every single day for 5-3 normal crates each day. Also, any butt that is selling is worth putting on the market. The only items that will have good prices are old holiday crates after a while or new special/holiday crates that are being sold on the first two or three days. At this point, a lot of users probably saved up enough coins that the next special crate will have a normalized price very quickly, unlike what happened with the spooky and holiday crates.
