My Castle Brunwald walkthrough/guide
Castle Brunwald guide First floor castle
If you use my guide and you could lose much fun and exploration. If you do want to use it make sure to have some save games ready too.
When you enter the castle you meet the butler.
The Butler
You say: Are you the one with the relatives in town?
You say: No he is fine. But you must go to him immediately.
You say: I can prove that I know Otto.
The doorway to the left leads to the drunk soldier, but he is very friendly and have no interests in giving you a hard time. Her you can ask about useful information concerning the castle personal.
And make sure to get his beer stein. You can just leave him alone after that. Make sure not to comment that he is drunk on duty unless you want to fight. There seems to be some sort trigger that when the soldiers have been beaten up the rest of soldiers are alerted and think you are the intruder. So it’s best to avoid fighting before you must or are more ready for it.
In one of the room there is kitchen contains an ale keg and boar roast that you need.
Use the stein(beer.glass) with the roast to kill the fire, but make sure to fil up the stein with the ale from the keg.
The hall leads right to the two guards on first floor. Both guards are weak fighters, but in most cases you can avoid fighting and you keep the Indy gear on.
The Guard that mention your leather jacket. “You in that leather jacket!”
You say: Hi! I’m selling fine leather jackets like the one I’m wearing. You got permission to enter the castle and the jackets cost 15 marks.
The guard that asks about official business.
You say: Where is the prisoner?
You say: Gestapo. Special investigations.
You replay about that: How do you know about that? Are you leaking information?
Make sure to investigate the rooms you find a small room with uniforms like the grey officer uniform and the one for servants. However you will need a brass key that can be found one second floor hidden inside a small officer uniform, but it’s too small for you.
In the room with the fireplace and suite of armor. Make sure to push armor once because this will be helpful later one. The axe hits the floor and leaves a mark.
You can push first statue at the fireplace to test the secret door. Open and then close it.
“Warning!, if you test the secret door at this time(early) I think there is an event that makes the guards on full alert.” Like walking through the secret door.
Keep in mind if soldiers sees you with different clothing like the servant clothing, officer uniform or the Indy cloths they will regard you as the imposter and start to fight.
Save the game!

There are two chests on the second Floor one with 50 marks and one with a uniform that do not fit Indiana Jones.
One the second floor you should use the servant uniform and when you meet the guard that comment about what you’re looking for. Then you just give him the painting of grail because this guard is very suspicious and very little dialog can help here. Whatever you say to him seems to be at no help at all. And wearing the Indy outfit won’t help either. If you play hind and seek with this guard there seems to be a trigger in the game make him expose at once next time you speak with him. I did try use the officer uniform once, but he did not buy that.
After you have given the mistrustful solider the painting you will see a dialog with this solider and colonel Vogel regarding paintings of the Holy Grail. Also keep an eye on a passport that is mention during the conversation. I can say this much the paintings of the Grail gives you another hit about the grail*.

With your grey officer uniform you can move easier around the second floor.
The calm guard he stands on large blue carpet with one red line in it and there is 3 doors that leads to this room.
When you eventuality meet him in uniform he says:
“Nice to see a new face, but you should not stray from your assigned post.”
You replay with: I’m official business may I pass?
If you at some point fight him and take him out you get 20 marks.
To the north east there is a corridor with 3 doors the door in the middle is locked, the door to left you meet the textbook Nazi that the drunk solider mention earlier, to the right there is another calm and relaxed guard.
The textbook Nazi that watches the alarm can’t be reason with so you give him the book “Mein kampf”. If you fight him instead and managed to beat him you get 70 marks. But the textbook Nazi is a hardliner that takes much effort to beat.
The cam guard to right
Oh, hmm – do you want something?
You say: I’m on official business. May I pass?
Nest line: No, I was transferred here today.
You respond with: Certainly! You do have top secret clearance?
Then the guard get mention something about a Sigfried that works upstairs. If you choose to fight this guard later on he has 20 marks on him. Sigfried is an officer you bump into later.
You can enter the room with the locked door via the widows to the rooms nearby. The room with the locked door has lose brick for some reason. I don’t think it has a game effect or anything.
Polite, but correct guard near the stairway to the 3. Floor.
Greetings sir.
You say: Greetings, my friend. How is sentry duty today?
You respond with: What you don’t remember me?
You say: Solider! Is that any way to speak to a superior officer!
Punchline: Colonel Vogel knows of me. Please call him right away.
There is a Red Cross kit in one of the rooms near the polite guard. This kit can only be used inside the castle. When Indy and Henry senior escapes the castle they leave some items behind.

3. Floor the restricted area
The flimsy guard
Uh, sorry this is restricted – I mean, a restricted area.
You say: Solider your pants are wrinkled! And no time to remove the stain on your jacket? Sauce? You buffoon! You waste my time. Stand aside!
Then the guard’s leaves you alone and you can start to explore the rooms, but you can’t get past the large guard biff yet. For Biff you need to fill the trophy filled with ale and give it to him. Then you can just hit him once and he is out.
In colonel Vogels office you can take the large trophy and open the file drawer. You can also find unsigned pass inside the drawer. You must first offer(give) the dog this boar roast to access the items. The unsigned pass has also a safe combination so now you can find the storage room for all the paintings. This room is located to fare left corner on the second floor.
The safe(vault) is hidden behind the great Mona Lisa picture.

Sigfried officer in green uniform.
You say: Greetings, my friend. How is sentry duty today?
You respond with: No, I was transferred here today. New orders.
Last line: Certainly! You do have top secret clearance?
Sigfried has 25 marks and he is a competent fighter, but it’s not equal to his officer rank IMO.
You can take him out later. After Sigfried there are no guard left. Look for the silver key that unlocks the 3 doors to northern corridor. The silver key inside a room near Sigfried inspection rout and the key is found hanging from a candle.
The door with wires has an alarm and you should not open door unless you’re ready for the escape the attempt. If you go to the other doors with no alarms you can just use silver key. Once inside in one of the rooms look for a window and enter it. Outside you see six windows in total and a trellis fare to the right. The trellis can be used as a shortcut to the second floor. But now you should explore rooms on 3. Floor and look for a cabinet and Henry senior.

With all the guards away you can now decide to escape quietly or get taken on the way out. If you want leave the castle quietly you must destroy the alarm where the textbook Nazi was earlier. You can use the beer stein for that. Pour the beer inside the grating on the right side on the alarm system. Or you can do as I do, I choose to go inside the room via the windows where Henry Jones is imprisoned. Inside Henrys room there can sometime be cabinet with 75 marks. I leave the room with Henry senior and get stopped by an armed guard because of the alarm is running. Sometimes before I escapes with old Henry I choose to fight Sigfried and the two relaxed guards at the 2. Floor. That gives me 65 marks extra in total. You can use the money for bribing soldiers on your way out of Germany or buy tickets at the airport.

The Joneses is getting caught
Make sure you have cash from the cabinet and open the door with the silver key. The alarm starts and a zealot armed guard and Vogel pops up. Offer him the real grail dairy and not the old book this will be helpful later because of the passport. Soon after the Joneses are inside the room with the fireplace. Save the game first. Select pull chairs and do so until you stand near the suite of armor and on the mark/scratch. A shortcut for pull is the letter “a” on the keyboard. Keep doing this until you have your chairs over scratched mark on the floor. Next thing to do is to pull the suite of armor and you get free from the ropes. Now the Joneses can escape via the fireplace and remember the right statues belly. After that just use the motor bike. One the way to Berlin you have get pass one checkpoint
I found out that you can use this dialog to get pass him. I don’t recall him being a very strong fighter, but if Indy is very tired this is a better way.
You say: My authorization? You insult me!
You talk this way to a senior officer?
I am operating undercover.
It’s classified. Its top secret. I have no ID.

And this was Castle Brunwald walkthrough/guide. I’m not sure this is the only way to complete the castle, but this works very well for me.
