Rename scummvm... OR add the games to scummvm... and then add scummvm to steam as a nonsteam game.

The games launch from SCUMMVM, not the other way around. It loads the files for them... provided it knows where to look. Basically just gotta set it up and point it to the game directories. Think of it like an emulator that can load and play all your SCUMM games, because that's exactly what it is, and does.

but it seems to look for a one specific exe, and its renamed to the last crusade2 and scumms exe is just "the last crusade" so steam launches from there. I cant find anyway to setup the exe for scumm when its renamed.

This is possible under Linux/Steam Deck. Under Windows adding SummVM as a non-Steam game works but won't show you as playing as the game in your library. Adding directions for doing so for each platform:

Directions for doing so:
Windows
Games >> Add Non-Steam Game to Library
Click Browse, browse to the location ScummVM is installed in. Select the executable, select the scummvm exe file. This will open ScummVM from Steam from there you can load the game files into ScummVM. You can google directions for adding games to ScummVM from there.

While playing the game you will show as in Non-Steam Game Scummvm.

Steam Deck
Go to desktop mode by going to the Power menu then choosing Switch to Desktop. Install scummvm, libinotify and ProtonUp-QT. Launch ProtonUp-QT, select Steam under Install for dropdown then click Add Version, select Roberta from the Compatibility tool dropdown, select the latest version, click Install. Close ProtonUP-QT. Exit Desktop Mode you should now have Roberta in the list of Compatibility Tools.

Steam will now show the game and not Scummvm as the game you are playing.

Desktop Linux
Install scummvm, libinotify and ProtonUp-QT. Launch ProtonUp-QT, select Steam under Install for dropdown then click Add Version, select Roberta from the Compatibility tool dropdown, select the latest version, click Install. Close ProtonUP-QT. Start Stem. You should now have Roberta in the list of Compatibility Tools.

Steam will now show the game and not Scummvm as the game you are playing.

Modern versions of ScummVM allow to use advanced screen scalers (un-pixelizers) like xbrz.
