Multiplayer
Maybe I'm mising something, but isn't half the reason for flying (or learning to fly), the interaction with other pilots!!
Seriously! This development team needs to work on their coding, to include MultiPlayer!
Even if it's just add the IPX/SPX codec for LAN, then implement for Internet users!

It looks totally fun otherwise!
I have a similar app on my iPad, which I wont plug, as that defeats the purpose of helping this Dev group.

Cheers,

BULLy

Just to say, Multiplayer is fully supported in the simulator, However you`ll need to buy the base game and the first or second expansion to enable multiplayer.

u dont have a similar app on your ipad it wouldnt be anything like this. this is an rc flying simulator. if u fly rc helicopters or planes this is a must if u dont already have it.

Thanks for the feedback.

One more afterthought, what about external controllers, like the ones sold with RealFlight (By GreatPlanes)?
Just adding food-for-thought.

Best bet is to take a spin over to the official website, They have a link to the official shopping company Ikarus(I believe it`s an off shoot of the devs) , They sell the whole package, remotes, cables to allow you to use other makes, etc.

www.aeroflyrc.com/ or google aeroflyrc if your not happy with links from steam, They have the link to Ikarus.

Just to say I`m in no way connected to these guys or plugging them, I`d happily point anyone to Realflight 7.5 as well but thats a very expensive option at close to $300 for the full 7.5 version.

Exactly! RealFlight is an expensive option for most!
I still have my old Bundle of Version 4.5 (which is now REALLY old) with Mode 2 Futaba InterLink Elite.

I was looking at other options for using the USB controller, hence AeroFly.

It seems the standard edition from non steam comes with multiplayer for the same price http://shop.ikarus.net/en/home/756-aeroflyrc7-professional-download-for-windows.html

Much appreciated also, Fudge.
Yes, the Version Comparison Chart does show the MultiPlayer ticked in all columns.
Now I'm starting to wonder if I seriously missed something so obvious on the Steam Store page.
Thought it just said "Single Player".
Fudge Nov 6, 2014 @ 5:33am
The same chart for steam shows a cross on multiplayer, seems odd though. Would have though they would be the same for steam and non steam.

Exactly my thought too! Why disable MP just for Steam?
Defeats the whole purpose of developing a Module for a Project, just to be rendered useless for a Social tool that would UTILISE the ability!
I mean, if the devs wanted everyone to by JUST from them, fair enough, but to disable MP on a platform that would ultimately SPREAD the word and fun about the project, to prospective buyers, sounds more like a bullet or nail to the foot IMHO!

"if the devs wanted everyone to *buy" Sorry for the typo.
Fudge Nov 6, 2014 @ 5:59am
Just looked on steamdb (to get Euro price) and it is slightly cheaper on steam (about $6-7). But would have thought that they would keep the editions the same across the board for simplicity.

Just to clarify: We do have Multiplayer support for the Professional and Ultimate Edition. The Standard version currently features no Multiplayer.
The information here on Steam is correct. We might add this feature to the Standard version at a later time.

Thank you so much for the clarification IPACS (Dev)!
Though I do appreciate fellow gamer input eg. Fudge/MiniHeroes/Krumpet, I prefer to hear the official word from the developer, where possible.

Wait... I have a question. If multiplayer is DISABLED for the standard edition users... explain this (video of my quick multiplayer flight this am, start at 30 seconds to see the flight, whole thing to see what happens when you choose scenery that you dont own) :

http://youtu.be/q3OPxLvTygU

I can use multiplayer and have done so. If there is another user with an airplane model I dont have, they just dont display.
ipacs aerofly  [developer] Nov 9, 2014 @ 12:12am
Phil, you actually mentioned the main reason why we didn't add Multiplayer officially to the Standard Edition. Most folks fly with the Professional or Ultimate Edition, so Standard users would see unknown models all the time or can't join a session, since they don't have the scenery.
