You aren't playing Skyrim, the dinosaurs won't magically forget about you if you 'hide' for 60 seconds. They can smell, and they can hear. I have not had a problem with being found from far away. Rule of thumb for T-Rex: If you can hear their footsteps, you should be crouched.
I do agree that the dinosaurs should interact with each other as well, but I wouldn't ask the dev team to worry about that until they have added the dinosaurs in that they want.
