Why no Offline?
to me this seems to be the thing that will kill this game , as basicly it means the second the dev stops supporting this game its buy buy game and you wont be able to play it anymore!

well you try and open the game with no internet and see if it works if it did then my game would work right now this game is an always online game

I agree with JGS why not an offline mode seriously there is no logical reasoning to have to host a single player network i bought this game to play it singleplayer most the time but in the instance where my wife and kids are all using internet (ie netflix on pcs on my connect kills my bandwith) ive noticed some lag issues where a t-rex would walk a few steps and lag back momentarily here and there granted not a very crippling annoyance but I fell that is a unecisary annoyance especially when its something that can be implemented in a few hours of work

yeah , i wonder if the dev's will give us an answer why they did not do this or will this be avabile later on?

From the pinned F.A.Q:
"Future Features

Will it be possible to save my progress without internet connection?
No, it won’t."

I believe you have your answer ^^ From what i understand from this is that it will stay an online game no matter if you want to play alone or with others.

offline is something I'd also like to see implimented not only for primal but thehunter as well. won't be holding my breath though

Well is there any real reason why it has to be online? like come on its a hunting game!
Liquidhype Jan 17, 2015 @ 2:19am
It's just for convenience sake. I don't know if they don't how to make the game offline, or they are simply just lazy. It has to be one or the other. There is absolutely no reason for this game not being playable offline!

the game is amazing but when i'm in my own "singlepalyer" server it can still loose connection, and if it comes back all the crateso n the map magically disappear, really frustrating
theHunter is online only too, but that's because the website tracks your stats in very high detail, saves your current session details etc. As Primal doesn't do this, I see no reason why is has to be an online mode.

yeah I really dont dont get it kind of sh its me to be hounest like come one why do we need it? kind of wish I read about that before i brought this game as it still wont connect to the bloody server

There are no overwhelmingly compelling reasons to have a game which can be played SOLO, have an always on (ala Sim City latest) requirement, which by the way they finally patched in and provided an Offline mode.

There are however, some very ominous reasons to prevent offline gameplay.

Hello conspiracy theorists....

Both games use server side calculations etc for many parts of the game - theHunter always has done so as there is a competitive element to the game. Some of it is security, some of it is fairness, but it's unlikely to change. Another case of finding something to moan about for the sake of it in most cases I think.

The stability is definitely in need of improvement however.
