What do these legions mean? I changed it once but I had no idea what was different. Same skills and such

Sadly it just looks like different skins.

It would have been nice to see abilities and characteristics based on legion traits. Blood Angels could have had a black rage that boosts their assault attacks but perhaps deals them damage as well, white scars could have had an additional move ability to simulate their speed, ultra smurfs could break out in to a squeaky voiced song.

Still, it's nice to have some variety in how they look.

Ah. Yeah I dont care about cosmetics so I didnt notice. Yeah your ideas sound nice. Would be cool to have more elements

Not until the put Chaos in as an army. Death Guard, World Eaters and Alpha Legion would be nice to start off with, if only they would give legion abilities / traits as well.

For 40k Chess, with Chaos being added, it would be a crime to leave out the Thousand Sons. Tzeentch is, after all, the Lord of Planning and Strategy and the Master of the Great Game.

[Emperor's Gene Seed]

The first generation space marines were the mightiest called the Thunder Warriors. They were named for the early thunderbolt and raptor's head heraldry used by the Emperor in the early days,but there gene seed wasn't stable & deteriorated over time causing instability etc.. The second generation were called the Grey Legion and wore storm cloud grey power armor, and bore only the thunderbolt and lightning marks of Imperial Unity. The Emperor learned from the pro's and con's of these first generations and created 20 Primarchs, immortal super humans blessed with extraordinary intelligence, charisma and sheer physical might who were to be his generals and closest comrades during the Great Crusade to reunite the scattered and long-isolated human colony worlds after the end of the Age of Strife. The gene seed from these 20 Primarchs created the first founding of the independent Legions we know and love today.I believe that the 18 who actually survived and are known of should be added to this game period. Of course as some one else stated, some are Chaos Legions(traitor legions) Chaos Legions should be the next Army added to Regicide, with out Chaos you don't have WH 40k Universe. That straw poll makes me laugh Chaos isn't first, whatever heritics! There are 9 Loyalist Legions that remained Loyal to the Emperor of Mankind. The other 9 traitor Legions were warped by Chaos & became Heretical mostly because of Horus & The Horus Heresy. The legions were broken down into smaller space marine chapters after the Horus Heresy so no one General could corrupt or command that many space marines in revolt ever again. Today there are 1,000 known chapters.The existing Space Marine Legions were divided into new Chapters. One Chapter kept the name, badge and colors of the original Legion, while the remaining Chapters took on new titles, badges and colors. Most of the old Legions were divided into fewer than five Chapters, but the Ultramarines, being the largest Legion, was divided many times. The exact number of new Chapters created from the Ultramarines is not known, the Codex Astartes (the so-called Apocrypha of Skaros) gives the total as 23, but no names are given. There have been many Foundings since the first and all the rest were after the Horus Heresy.The history of this universe is awesome, many books written. There are some really cool wikia/wiki out there with tons of info. If you know nothing about this game but like it, check out the history or it's just another sweet looking visceral game! It's so much more! The Emperor Provides!

I wanted to know what legions were available in the game.

Yeah I get that u wanted to know what legions or better said, Chapters are in the game. I ran out of time last night but will edit the list with that info, though the Emperors champion has already told you that. Some may not know what the hell he is talking about since he got cute with some of the Legion/Chapter names. I added the extra info for everyone who will read this post or hasn't read the books & are clueless to what this game is about etc.. You didn't specify your knowledge of the 40k universe.
