Thoughts on the game.
It's a good game in my opinion. The gameplay is sort of generic for a roguelite shooter and it lacks any unique mechanics but its a good game. The guns feel good and feedback feels great.

I don't know much about the dev but the game that they have taken assets from and put into this sounds familiar. If it's what I remember then yeah I remember distinctly thinking it was handled very ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I do believe that this game is unfortunately very cooked. It is receiving pretty good reviews being listed as very positive however, as I said before the gameplay is sort of generic and can get boring after a while. That and looking at this discussion page it seems there is alot of people who feel very negative about this game despite the positive reviews.

Some have valid opinions. Some are just braindead. The shield guys are not that hard you can slightly stun them by shooting them as soon as they drop their shield to do their rapid fire attack. I like grenading them and then dumping a couple shotgun shells into them. if the first shot doesn't kill them then the second will.

the big bot also is not that hard he killed me the first time because I was trying to get rid of all the other dudes then focus on him but I realized as long as you have decent shields and keep moving you can ignore them and focus on the big guy. There is an actual boss at the end though and can someone tell me if that thing is beatable?

I had like a god run with incendiary damage gear, I had 140 health and 78 shield and it took me down to 3 health in one hit from a laser. I heard an explosion but I didn't see any barrels in the room. Had me hella confused.

And AI art? Come on guys really? Have you ever looked at a big spread of AI art? You can tell when something is AI just from a look usually. The only time when it's difficult to tell if something is AI is when people are working hard and erasing and correcting the inconsistencies which usually only twitter AI artists do since it sort of defeats the point to use AI for creating due to laziness and then working really hard to make it look good.

The menu art may be AI and if it is, is it really that bad? I'm all against AI replacing Artist but come the f*#& on guys. Think a little.

Addendum, took a look and this is not ripped from the same game I thought it was and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I'm sticking to my guns on the AI thing and people just being bad at the game but oh my god man.

The other game just looked better. It had a challenge system, co-op, inventory management. What the hell. I still think this game is fun so I'm hoping that despite the now VERY apparent awful history this studio has, they pull their heads out of the sand and get their crap together. Because this has potential.

Thanks for the feedback! Best place to share is Discord btw since we review that a lot more often, but we do try to check the Steam forums once in a while as well.

We're making a lot of updates to the game that should make it feel more unique over time, especially around the way weapons, augments, elements, shield, map etc. work. Since it's a demo the focus at first was around having a solid base, so over time we'll be able to layer in more unique pieces that take it to the next level.

Deadzone rogue will also be single player, so that should help remove some of the challenges we faced in the past with multiplayer games. All the best!
