offline mode?
I got to play the demo a moment before it went down and it runs like a charm on steamdeck. however I noticed I couldnt play offline. lack of offline support and local multiplayer will 100% keep me from purchasing. if i buy it I want to be able to play where and when I want. honestly seems like a goofy restriction.

Pffff......... Well then, and I'm sorry... if there's no offline mode... I won't give you my money. Thanks :)
Check out Void/Breaker if you haven't. I am not sure when it will release but it can be played offline and it is also an extraction rogue-like shooter.

no offline, no buy.

The fact devs have not addressed this yet is not a good sign.

I agree with you but it sucks because I want to play the game :/ don't know why devs make it hard for people to play their games.
I'm still getting it... although this almost made me not want to IF that's the case. Sometimes i go away for work and take my PC, can only hotspot for so long lol.

I will still buy it as soon as it arrives. However, an offline mode is still needed~

All I will(can) do is getting this game a "not recommended " review on steam when this game is confirmed not playable offline.

Looks like you bought it. What's the verdict chief? Can it be played without an internet connection?
I’m curious too; on the demo I had to be online to be able to play offline (like if I started playing while online I could go offline and keep playing, but could not start playing while offline). I’ll be passing for now if that’s still the case; I’m on the go a lot and my Deck is my daily driver.

1+ on the steam deck offline mode if i have no internet which is alot when I have down time away from home

Looks like this is strictly online only, at least according to the EULA -

12. DURATION OF THE “ONLINE” COMPONENT OF THE GAME.

The Software Product is an "online" game that must be played over the Internet through the Service as provided by Prophecy. You understand and agree that the Service is provided by Prophecy at its discretion and may be terminated or otherwise discontinued by Prophecy pursuant to the Terms of Use.

Welp. Refunding then.
So... if you put Steam in offline mode and you don't have internet... you can't play it?

entonces... si pones steam en modo sin conexion y no tienes internet... no puedes jugarlo?

Waiting for dev reply
Offline doesn't work on the demo? I would suspend this all the time on my Steam Deck and not get kicked when turning back on,. Perhaps they changed that when they added match making.

Regardless, no buy for me without an offline mode on the Early Access or full game. So stupid a single player (primarily) game requires a constant online connection.

I got bounced when I tried connecting with Steam Down. So I'm going to assume no internet means no game. MMO style.

Yup hard pass from me then.

Another hard pass ( ) from a fanatical, traditional, loner, single player offline gamer - the best in the world, actually. Yes, realy.

What we have here (also based on entire developer interaction on this game's demo hub duration) is a "hardcore" wannabe dev. Remember too, from what I have read, here on the game's forums, he went "AI scared" and started badly downgrading graphical assets that, after several game code upgrades, look unprofessional and childish - compared to how good it looked. Again, from several others reporting this for the demo, as it kept getting code updated over last few weeks.

tl;dr Demo got super hardcore "graphical assets" downgraded due to some "AI fear" the dev freaked out over because one forum fool pressed him about "AI assets". :lunar2019madpig:
