We appreciate your opinion but do not NEED to apply it. We are adults (mostly) and do whatever we want with our earned money. I do not see myself playing this in 5 months. But the potential of $ per hour spent in total is beyond 100 hours with what I have experienced. Even at a 50$ buy in, thats less than 1$ per hour of entertainment. Thats roughly a month of game time (per 3-4 hour session DAILY before bed/work). By the end of that month, I move on to another game in my library.
Wasnt here for either tribes or The other Deadzone, however developers have had issues with greed in the past and still get ♥♥♥♥ tons of money. take EA and Activision for example, nothing you do as an induvidual will change "shills" and people who enjoy the game and dont care about cost (lookin at you Rust and Bodycam)
If the Devs can push down greed and not turn this into another "bodycam" fiasco, then I am all for this game releasing.
I did some research on these Devs tendencies and to quote a Reddit post(yea ik its Reddit)
"The developers have a lengthy history of putting out Early Access games (Prophecy, Starsiege Raiders, Starsiege Deadzone and now Tribe 3), barely advertising them and discontinuing/abandoning them within 1-6 months release to focus on a new game, and so the circle repeats."
what i take away from this brief explanation is that the team is extremely ambitious in an overall destructive way, they did do a better decision by advertising it this time, but I do think if greed is overly present, it should die until they learn.
Amazing Dev team, sound design needs a bit of work but its a demo so eh.
(yes its a corporate message its a formal message from a dev so it kinda has to be in some regards)
I didn't realize this was Hi-Res. I was reserved but moderately excited to see how this developed. Nevermind.
The "Tarkov clone" is simple... anyone that plays Starsiege: Deadzone knows what he means, and should you.
Starsiege: Deadzone was an EXTRACTION SHOOTER, at least when I played it the first time before the devs changes it to a Battle Royale in a matter of a week or 2.
There was no issue with the game neither.. it's all the devs and the CEO that killed the game to stop the supporters to cry and non-stop claiming to have been scammed and wanted MASSIVELY being refunded.
The CEO Erez already said in the Discord chat that he was only interested into the Numbers. Main reason the game struggled so so bad.
Instead, they recycled Deadzone into ROGUE. Making it FREE FOR Deadzone's supporters to slightly accommodate them for having been scammed with Deadzone...
Otherwise it wouldn't be free for them if they had not been scammed... still they are scammed cause this game is so far from what Deadzone was and could have been.
Edit:
This isn't a "real" name...
Better use the real one, so he can't change it as easily.

It's not rocket science and all the warning labels were literally there. You just chose to ignore them and 'invest' in an unhatched egg anyway....
Since so many missed it, from the top of Starsiege Deadzone Steam page "Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development."
No Yes No
Did I claim to be a lawyer? No
Can I read and comprehend simple English as ever so plainly laid out in the early access warning label? Yes.
Does that ability require one be a lawyer? No.
Do I know what they even did with Deadzone? Yes....they stopped development and support of an early access game which by its online only nature was a huge risk even if it was sold as a full v1.0 game.
And no, I'm not defending anyone, I am simply pointing out that you made a bad bet, a bet turned out poorly, and only you are to blame. This demo is FREE and NOT a scam.
I too have bought E.A. games that shut down, never updated further, ones that changed so drastically it might not even be considered the same game, and even titles that took several American presidential terms to make it to v1.00 status.
Did I cry? Did I scream? Did I blame anyone but myself?
Let me answer for you....
No No No
....kids these days ;)
... what?
I don't even think America's Funniest Home Videos was the OG clip show and that predated Tosh.0 by decades.
Claiming Starsiege is "Tarkov clone" is just as poorly thought out of an argument. Heck, not sure we can name a single game in 2025 that isn't somehow a derivative of something else.
You could say that if you lacked the education to know what words mean.
I guess that is cheaper than therapy or prescriptions.....tell us, is it working for ya?
