Why is Worlds Adrift shutting down?

Making such an ambitious game was always going to be a challenge and we love the game we’ve built together with our community. However,  Worlds Adrift has not captured the imagination of as many people as we needed to make it commercially viable.

When is Worlds Adrift shutting down?

Worlds Adrift will be closing in July 2019 with our End of the World Party. The exact date and details of this event will be announced here and on our other community channels (Twitter, Facebook, Steam Forum and Discord) soon.

What’s happening with the game until then?

You will be able to play as normal but we’ve made a few changes to help players get the most out of the game during these final months. To provide a special experience in the game all the cosmetic items in the in-game shop will soon be made free for players to enjoy.

What will happen to my character/stuff?

All characters, ships and items will no longer be accessible after our End of the Word event in July.

Can I get a refund?

You are eligible for a refund if you have purchased Worlds Adrift on the Steam Store between the dates of April 29th 2019 and this announcement on May 29th 2019. Please contact Steam Support directly as we are unable to handle payment issues ourselves.

I purchased something from the Worlds Adrift Item Store. Can I get a refund for it?

All in-game purchases made since the store launched in Update 29 will be refunded. You will retain access to your purchases until Worlds Adrift closes.

What about all your other games? What are you working on?

Bossa is a games developer and publisher.  We always works on at least three projects in parallel. We have multiple other unannounced titles in development at this time, and we will be talking about them soon. You can sign up here for more information.

Can I still use the Island Creator?

The Worlds Adrift Island Creator will remain live but it will no longer be possible for players to bring their creations into the game.

You said Founders are getting stuff. What am I getting?

All Founders will receive a copy of I Am Bread and Surgeon Simulator on Steam. In addition, the Worlds Adrift website will remain live with a list of Founder Captains’ names as a digital monument to the world we built together.

Release the assets and source code. Let the community keep it going and make something of it if you're not willing to continue investing in it.

The game was still in early access. What the hell? Wiping our progression didn't help matters much either.

I think at least tacking on the capacity to make a ship in the island creator would be cool - seems a waste to let all those assets go. Would also definitely work as a smaller multiplayer ship arena game based around single islands...

Same scammers like many of early access games. The only thing we could do is to not to buy anything from that scum company Bossa studios and any guys worked for it. Hope they soon have bankruptcy!

Never play PvE i enjoy PvP ist just boring to me to be froce to play with a big crew just to have a chance to get a nice t4 "end game" ship with schem ect, call me a ♥♥♥♥♥ if u want, and keep crying about scam in mom basement u pepega :)
