i got it sometime ago and hope that it's not the last of it's kind because even a bad copy cat version would still be pretty good.
edit; and no. i don't know of anything like it.
Guns of Icarus is the closest you’ll get.
There is another airship steampunk/post apocalypse game in development for VR only, but I forgot it’s name, Junk is part of the name, but being VR only I gave up following that one.
Keep watching this one, maybe look up Guns of Icarus Alliance DLC if you haven’t already, it’s not MMO, but the input into the war map for your faction can give some of the aspects of working towards a larger goal with other people.
could be. thanks
If you want a game with way deeper pve and even more control over ship building you should give Avorion a try. Its amazing.
World's Adrift is ana amzaing game tho not discounting it, just really not really ready.
Agreed, I also have my doubts about the dev team from time to time, promising updates soon, then delaying the updates and telling the community a week after the delay there would be a delay... it feels like Bossa haven’t recovered from the backlog the cheating fix caused still.
Well honestly I dont see how Avorion is more similar to Worlds Adrift then Sea of thieves. Avorion looks more like Elite dangerous to me, only with less or no pvp. On the other hand, in Sea of thieves and Worlds adrift you have crews of players operating on a ship together and fighting other crews of players on other ships. Thanks for the comment though
I own Avorion, World's Adrift and Elite: dangerous. And I've played Sea of Theives.
Out of all those games, Avorion is the closest to World's Adrift. Even the progression is similiar. You start with crappy resources and build your way up to the better ones.
Avorion - You build your ship the way you want. And it will fly and handle differently due to the way you built it. Its also similiar in size to worlds adrift, extremely massive. Its also has pvp and multiplayer coop. And way way way more pve content than World's adrift. It is NOTHING like Elite dangerous.
Elite Dangerous - feels like a space sim with an extruciating grind and massive void of nothingness, while Avorion feels like a space Game.
Sea of theives - Seemed to me to be made towards 12 year olds based on the content. Fetch quests to go find something on a named island. You get there and whats that? you fight skeletons for less than 30 seconds, steamroll them, pick up a chest and back to your ship, and end fetch quest. Rinse repeat. The ship battles, water, and graphics are amazing, but you cannot build your own ship. They are pre-fabs. And theres even less content than Worlds adrift if you can believe that.
