If the concept is indeed explored in the future, could you take a look into implementing both local and online co-op?
Now this makes it more interesting.
1: Bases are placed with the forward pointing the same direction, this allows for an easy first experience, income and everything can function as before.
2: could either do another parallel lane or have it come off perpendicular to the current lane forcing each player to have to manage a lane of their own
3: 3 lanes with the bases back to back, maximum distribution
4: Position the bases 2 tiles from each other
