One entrance is actually harder than four. (Endless Mode)
One entrance is actually harder than four. I can only reach wave 32 with one entrance, but I can get to wave 40 with four. I think the difficulty scaling in Endless Mode is a bit too much. I enjoy building a massive base, but I never really get to that point before it falls apart.

I've seen this as well. Having entrances at various distances away from your base helps break up the number of enemies you are fighting at once. Since this game's AoE does not hit all targets like it does in normal games there is little benefit from fighting the entire wave at the same time.
maybe 1 entrance = default 20% more hp when reaching higher waves

right i guess as long as AOE having target # limit. single path dont really have that kind of advantage
Yeah, I like to have multiple entrances in a parallel path
I’m still talking about the scaling. You can reach wave 35 easily when playing with 4 entrances, but if you go with just one, you’re lucky to even get close. This has nothing to do with how I play — it’s about the way Endless Mode scales. From wave 25–30, the scaling with one entrance ramps up way more than it does with four. It doesn’t make sense — why is it harder to play on 'easy' than on 'hard' in Endless Mode?
I think the problem is tied to the number of battlefronts. A number of buffs to you from doctrines or building upgrades lose value, when there are viewer battlefronts, and even worse, some tier 3-foes get decisively stronger. Definitely those pink balloon guys increase in hp a lot, which can kill you as they appear in swarms and get damage reduction to your non-air buildings.

If you start with one entrance, you automatically only have one battlefront, with four entrances, you will reduce the number of battlefronts over time, whenever you create a chokepoint that leads to two or more entrances.

It is probably supposed to punish chokepoint tactics, and it doesn't have easy difficulty in mind, as you "win" at wave 25, and aren't supposed to encounter tier 3 foes at all.

I don't think battlefronts is the issue. I'm pretty sure the scaling goes into overdrive when you "beat" the current setting and activate endless mode. So, with fewer entrance difficulties also having lower victory requirements, this means it enters the 'overdrive scaling' earlier.

Setups with fewer entrances definitely create a very different dynamic in Endless Mode. We’re actively working on finding the right balance between keeping the challenge engaging and allowing players to push further into higher waves.

If you haven’t tried it since the latest adjustments, it might be worth revisiting. We’d love to hear how it feels now as we continue refining the experience!

The way I see it, Endless Mode is supposed to let me choose my own difficulty. One entrance means easy, two for medium, three for hard, and four for expert — something like that. So if I just want to build a big base and relax while watching YouTube or whatever, I’d pick one entrance.

But now it feels like no matter what I pick, I end up dead 5–10 waves after Endless starts.

So it feels strange that I die faster with one entrance than with four. Now, when I want a relaxing game, I have to pick four entrances instead of one — that just doesn’t make sense.

I know only two stated in the game mechanics that specifically directly punish the player for making only one Battlefront - a selectable penalty/hazard for Frontier mode, and a flying balloon monster who "becomes stronger the less Battlefronts there is", whatever that means. Those balloons are the least dangerous high-level monster btw.
In this case, it doesn’t change — I always end up focusing on one battlefront, whether I have one entrance or four. So my point still stands: it’s harder to reach higher waves with one entrance than with four.

For me its the other wise round... playing with one i get always into late game but with 4 i just got one time beyong Wave 35... -.-

The trick is to get all 4 lanes parallel, but never merge them :D

It’s strange to me how people just comment without reading. This isn’t a skill issue — it’s a scaling issue. Try reaching wave 35 with only one entrance and you’ll see it’s harder than with four. Good luck.

Okay? What does that have to do with the difference in difficulty scaling between 1 and 4 entrances? This post was simply pointing out that it’s harder to get further with fewer entrances. Like I already said — play to wave 35 with one entrance, then do the same with four, and see which is easier to reach. Maybe read properly next time before commenting.
