Great post. I'll have to keep checking this. The Japanese modding community seems to be working on Empires right now too

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Looks like you took time and effort to create this for the community

(last post's link) I figured I should post the link to the Koei warriors site as some users have good information on hex editing :D

Thanks everyone for posting, good stuff that at least someone knows about how to do hex edits! i will link it to them in hex edit category.

And, i am afraid there is no skin mods yet, but i am sure soon they will be online. And well, i could post it on guides section, but... it's Steam. No one checks there xD, So the best way to communicate is through forum

Hmm the hex edit site you linked isnt working for me.

Those are still not official, and were meant for almost every game, that is unmodable.
So far we can do only a few things. We can't replace models and stuff like that, and well texmod kinda screws up steam overlay, so it's all not perfect...
As for other stuff, let's just hope there is a great coders somewhere in community, that will make something more advanced.

I see,but it's great to see that modders are working on this game, that gives me hope. And this kind of reminds me of Dark Souls II,i heard that the game has tons of bugs at release and modders has to step in and fix it,but then bandai removed them for some reason.

Time to replace all the CAW horrible quality textures with some higher rez ones.

Gonna experiment with it a bit, when will come back home. Hopefully, UV's of the models will count textures as normal ones...

Experiment done with success, models support higher resolution...

Though, there is not that much of a difference, really. UNLESS someone will redraw all the textures from beginning. But anyway, now that i know that we can use any resolution, it really helps out with skins.

And more experimenting, this time with a whole costume... So! What did i learned, You can "hide" some parts of a model, by adding transparency, it helps out on making a few skins...

That's basically... it, and well, there is no limit in texture resolution... which is good too.
That's all i found out today. heh.

Good to hear. Now if someone was dedicated enough to redraw textures. Though i can imagine taking tons of time
woodhawk109 Mar 10, 2015 @ 3:27pm
What I want to know is how to add new edit armor slots. If we can delete some parts of a texture to make "new" armors (like non-cape, non-wings versions of certain sets), then it'll be pretty cool to have those as separate armors instead of replacing the original.

However, the biggest issue now is still the fact that we have to load up texmod everytime we want these in the game. We need to figure out how Koei compress their data so we can mess with it ingame.

Hopefully more people will be interested in this game and those mods will come in the future, but now, I guess we'll settle with what we have

Well, we could always try to do some photoshop filters, to add "Sharpness" it could work with 2x textures... But who knows.
Also, the more textures we add in TexMod, the longer loading time will be (at the start, not in the game itself)

Hex edits might help in that, but again, not much knowledge about them yet.
