Viewing enemy officer stats?
So I'm not entirely sure on how the difficulty scaling works with this but currently the (weakest) enemy on the map is way overpowered, they just have too much health. So, A) is there any way to view the stats of enemy officers (short of getting and using "Scout") and B) can someone explain why the enemy has so much health? I was browsing the old posts but they mostly just imply leadership and troop numbers have the greatest effect when determining overall strength but it doesn't really help if I can't know how strong I am without at least raiding the enemy.

Well, to make yourself tougher, build blacksmithies and get yourself some better weapons. As to why some enemies are stronger? Well, some be like that. Either they are higher level than you or the game has gone on for like 40 years possibly ^^. I'd take it you are refering to Lu Bu and his merry gang though?

I think Lu Bu might have been part of it (that little girl with the two rods was my biggest problem I think), but how can I get more than two blacksmiths with only the one territory (can I have two on the one), everyone around me is stronger (alledgedly). I think the year is only around 20 or so (I think I was around level 50). The amount of health was kind of insane though, it was like 1 75th for every combo.

I started another game on normal and made more use out of quests and items and am just cruising along so far so the issue was probably just my lack of knowledge, although it still irks me that I have no way to gauge the enemy officers strength without Scout.

You can build max 2 blacksmithys per territory, you can however build up to 6 if you get more territories. As for viewing other characters, I guess the recruit option you'd get as a ruler might let you look at the ones in adjacent areas (without finishing with the recruit).

By the way, if you want to play a fun scenario, go to scenario under the edit options. Press spacebar on keyboard, and then press download. Find 'The great steam war' there. A fun scenario with alot of playermade groups fighting for domination.

You can add your own character's unit and then place them as rulers of a kingdom. Right now there is a small kingdom to the north area (its either blue or purple, but marked with a circle instead of squares). Should remove that territory from the kingdom it currently belongs to and add your own to it. First you'll need to import your officers though (10 officers might be a good idea). After you've done that you can just save the scenario and start it, chosing your faction and try fight for supremacy. I have my own ruler and his followers in there already. (Dez Ueru). I have yet to figure out how I can add the name of my faction to Ordezza.

If you don't feel like playing as a kingdom, you may add your characters to a mercenary unit (need to have at least your own character and 1 other in order for them to work). But theres alot of space for those around, since there is 24 areas, with 5 slots for merc groups in each.

Oh and if you'd add your group, don't forget to upload the scenario again so others may take on your kingdom/group aswell ^_^.

Capitals add another scaling factor to enemy stats based on how many territories they control and how much damage the capital region has taken. It was changed to be so in a patch to try and make decapitation strikes harder. Generally, it worked. Trying to take a capital of a large empire is nigh-impossible due to how much work you have to put it.

It is unfortunately not that well balanced in that you will eventually need the Blacksmith weapons (or to play with weapons unlocked), or it will take forever to whittle down increasing enemy health. I hadn't noticed just how bad it was until I tried playing as a subordinate, and thus was stuck with AI rulers that refused to build Blacksmiths. (Starred weapons are not an alternative, as their base damages are all low.)
