Cross-DLC?

I remember some time after Empires was launched that they did an update, and I think it was mentioned that DLCs from Xtreme Legends would work on Empires. I could have understood it wrong or something, but seeing as they are all the same, are the DLCs for these 2 games "cross-buy"?

From what I can tell, yes, to an extent. All DLC from Xtreme Legends work with Empires, but you have to make sure it says so. For example, the extra CAW parts, afaik, only work with Empires and aren't compatible with Xtreme Legends. Same with Empires' scenario packs, if I'm not mistaken.

I think mainly the costumes and BGM DLC transfer between each other (though it won't say under Steam DLC list for the one the DLC wassnt bought for).

Read the descriptions on the individual DLC items on the Xtreme Legends side, they'll tell you if it's a DLC that works on both games. I wanna say it's the BGM, the character costumes, and the wallpaper DLC that applies to both games.

In any case, the Empires-specific DLC is as follows:

• Edit Parts - Face, Hair & Accessary Pack
  
• Edit Parts - Equipment Pack 1
  
• Castle and Scenario Pack
  
• Castle Pack (free)
  
• Edit Voice Pack 1
  
• Edit Voice Pack 2
  
• Edit Parts - Equipment Pack 2
  
• Scenario, BGM, and Edit Parts Pack (this includes 3 more battlefields, for free mode and as event battles in the added scenarios)
  
• Edit Parts - Equipment Kimono

Everything else is already available if you own the equivalent DLC for DW8XLCE on Steam.

Wait so did I just mess up by buying costume pack 1 for empires and not exl, or if I get it for empires it unlocks for exl too?

It unlocks for the other one, yeah, I forgot that some of the DLC is for specific systems, of course stages won't appear on Empires, just like Edit Parts won't appear on XL. I was mostly interested in the costume packs, and checked all of them for the compatibility, and seems like they are compatible. I still have none as of now, will wait more, so I wonder if they appear automatically, or you need to manually move them or something like that.
