Does Rocky Turf in base cause meteor showers?
Hello all,
I haven't been able to find an answer to this online. My server has managed to reach 300 days. And we're starting to pretty-up our main base. We were thinking of using some rocky turf in some areas.. but then one of us asked, "Will it spawn meteor showers in our base?" :bbtcat:

I'm guessing they don't, because having your own portable boulder farm sounds quite op, but I'm not sure. Our base isn't near any rocky biomes and we've never had meteor showers in our base before. Any input would be appreciated :dswilson:

Not to answer this but kinda?

I put my base in a rocky biomes and meteors would come down pretty often on my base. To be expected. So I changed the the turf in and around my base to grass to match up with the Biome next to me as it was a grass biome. Needless to say, the meteors still came down on my base. lol

Ah thats good enough for me to go ahead and leave the rocky turf in my base, thanks!

If however I return to my base in a rocky mess, I'll report it here. :dswilson:

The areas where meteor showers fall are generated during world creation, therefore they are not caused by the rock biome. Even if you mine all the rocks and dig up all the rocky turfs from a rock biome and replace them with another type of turfs meteor shower will still be a common sight over that area.

So yeah, you are safe to put as many rocky turfs as you want beneath your camp, it will be safe and sound. ^^

I've only noticed meteors in and around the mosaic biome in all my games..... and sometimes other turf free areas with a bunch of rocks.

the rocky biome is just filled with freakin spider nests galore lol
