Can't move things around inventory

I was trying to play this with my friend, when I finally got chester. I wanted to put some stuff in him, but I couldn't because my left click was inspect and my right click was examine. Both did the same thing. Any ideas on what caused this? the only way to move things was to put my mouse over the item, press the chat button, then press enter. I had to do it again to put it down.

Edit: I hosted a new world and entered it, and after switching back to my main world, the problem was fixed.

I JUST had that happen last night and it fixed itself when I alt-tabbed out of the game and then back in.

This has been an issue for me too in the single player game long ago. Sometimes you could accidentally press Alt with the back of your fingers or your palm and at the same time, the Alt input gets stuck in the game, so even though Alt is not being pressed, the game treats it as if it's held down. Pressing the key again and letting go fixes the issue. This is how I actually learnt about the controls of Shift, Ctrl and Alt giving you a way to control things for the first time. A really stupid way to learn honestly, there needs to be a better way and maybe a fix for the issue, though it's extremely rare and hard to replicate in my experience.

Did you alt-tab out the game? I think that makes some inputs/keys basically get stuck. At least that's the only time I remember having had something similar happen to me.
