dunno if it's on purpose or not, the other bosses have higher hp too. around double the original. can you make a mod to change everything back to normal?
i didn't check health on Deerclops or Dragonfly. Deerclops despawned on me at end of winter (didn't expect that since he was roaming long before winter came... i assumed he would roam indefinitely but nope.) and Bearger despawned after he killed me. that shouldn't happen, right? and Dragonfly actually flew off into sky and despawned when i first attempted to kill it during the first autumn, so... that definitely shouldn't happen.
no clue how these incidents and health can be intentional.
if anything the health should scale with number of players who are engaged in the fight, like WoW rare mob spawns scale up based on how many players are attacking it.
