I can't believe ps4 version has local coop and the pc version don't. The same developers are killing the pc gaming. What a shame.
I'm filling the refund form now...
If that's the case, then I'm actually kinda' pissed off. I'm tired of the console community needlessly getting more features than us.
They are working on that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlYUBOBsyRY
As a parent, it's not feasible for me to buy a computer for every child, plus a separate copy of the game for each child. And if they have friends over, I don't expect their friends to bring a computer with them.
And split screen may not be great on a monitor, but Minecraft works great with the screen split four ways on my flatscreen TV. So I'm sure Don't Starve will work great too.
And about that mod for the original, it was a great attempt by someone far more talented than I, but it requires everyone use the same keyboard.
HDMI cables are cheap, so it's not difficult to play split-screen games on a big screen.
Yes, that's exactly the same situation I live every day with my nephew.
I'm a hardcore gamer, so I have my main PC on a room but I use the streaming function to play it on my living room. We are so used to play in that way but is so sad when we discover great games like this without an local coop option.
I usually remember that time when I played video games with my friends and brothers everyone together in one room. Don't get me wrong, I think the multiplayer system is a good way to get people to play with around the world, but we shouldn't forget the joy to play with people by your side.
Only imagine if I were to tell to my nephew "hey, go to your home and connect to your own PC to play with me".
You obviously didn't read any of the posts above.
I have a GAME room this way with 5 computers and 5 screen (usually for racing)... but im filthy rich...so,,not for all people. But stil an idea if you want friends to come physically over in place of the OLD LAN party where everyone carried their own PC's
