Dont Starve TOGETHER character mod Tutorial

Hey everyone,
I want to create a mod to add a playable character to Dont Starve Together, but every tutorial is only for Dont Starve and kind of outdated ;c Has anyone a good tutorial for me to learn modding? Thank You!

Thank you again, it worked. It would be super nice, if you could give me a good tutorial for the character perks please. :)
For example, one character should have a compaignon like Wendy's Abigail.

I wish I knew one. :) I want to make my char special too, but don't have any clue.

All I could suggest is looking at other mods, or the original files, and see how stuff is done.

Find a mod where a character has a companion, and imitate what they do?

If you want a custom ghost companion look at my (Dark)Sakura Matou mod in the workshop.

And use the coding from there

I used the mod and it works well, thanks for helping with creating a follower. But what I really don't know how to do is how I add an unique item. Does anyone know how to do that?

In the tutorial video that MickMane mentioned, she talks about making a character for just normal dont starve, does this matter if you want to make a character for DST???

Turn a DST into DS???

I'm in the process of making a mod now using that tutorial. You can use that for DST, you just need to rename a couple more files. Simply just follow the videos instruction and rename anything from "est-template" (or whatever it is lol) to your character. Its case sensitive btw. As for the perks id love to know how because i want my character to gain sanity from the rain instead of losing it. Thanks in advance if anyone knows how :3
