Not true, Don't Starve can actually be "completed" ( by teleporting to a new world and keeping your entire inventory + you have Adventure Mode ). Don't Starve Together, at the moment, has no grander goal than surviving as much as possible...
Guy said it's simply never ending and I added as in sandbox mode, which is true. You can go and play 1000+ days in single too.
Being able to survive a large amount of days doesn't meant it's never ending. It seems that you and the guy before are either unaware of the available game modes in Don't Starve Together or you don't really understand the meaning of "never ending".
Survival Mode for example ends as soon as you die and fail to revive within a given amount of time. Endless mode, as the name suggests, is indeed a non-resetting world where you can always just resurrect at the spawn portal... it's intended to be more relaxed. Wilderness mode, has no revival items / options and as soon as you die, it's over. You're sent back to the character selection screen and your previous stuff is cleared.
You don't have these options in the singleplayer version of the game... and for the sake of accuracy: even the singleplayer version of the game ends if you die without any resurrection item / mechanism active or if you decide to teleport to a new world... and if you decide to start Adventure Mode, then your Sandbox Mode is "paused" until you finish / fail Adventure Mode.
the answer is not atm, but like i said in a diff thread, i found 3 things and the wooden thing so far by playing alone, for practice, so maybe if I beat 5 worlds, who knows, I might find maxwell
ok anyway DST has no really ending (you can see it by looking at the type of worlds when hosting an server like "Survival , Endless) , however their won't be any Adventure mode i guess , but their could be an mod
