Winona is so boring

Her core personality of "I hate hand-made objects" is both completely nonsensical when her entire kit is about making objects by hand and doesn't feel like a personality trait literally anyone would have. Walter's lack of fear is an actual disorder, same for Willow's pyro tendencies and Wilson's delusional ego, but she just arbitarily says a thing is bad if its not made in a specific way for... no reason.
And all she has beyond this nonsensical personality is the ability to latch onto more interesting characters. She's "Charlie's sister" or "Wagstaff's staff". Even her skill tree is just "get help from charlie" or "get help from wagstaff and use items he already made in hamlet (by hand, not in an assembly, so as per he core personality, she should dislike them)".
Is she supposed to be particularly smart, what with the turrets and all? If so, why is the smartest thing she can do... copy someone elses homework?
I really don't get her.
Its like they realized she has no personality or purpose beyond latching to other characters, so they just made up an extreme, nonsensical personality and dumped it on her, resulting in her being boring and stupid 3x over
