No second copy

I purchased this on the brand new accoutn to try to get my wife to play it. I didn't get a second copy, I can't find a key or link. Anyone know what to do other than refund and purchase this with my main steam account?

The gift was if you bought Don't Starve before it released. It was a gift for old players when DST left early access. If you buy it now, you just get the things you paid for.

If your talking about buying a Don't Starve together pack, when you buy the game your copy of the game is activated and the second copy is placed in your steam inventory. You can gift the 2nd copy at your descretion.

I did not recieve the gift copy for DST, it says right below it on the sale today "free copy to give to a friend" nothing in my inventory besides a steam summer sale card, so i requested a refund and will try again with my main 10 year old account.

First of all, Don't Starve Together is still in Early Access.

Secondly, as the OP said, it specifies right below the title that it includes an extra copy to send to a friend.

I'm interested in this game but I hope you get the second copy. If you could confirm this for me, I'd appreciate it. It's a deal breaker.

I requested a refund, I purchased it again on my seasoned account, guess what..the gift pops up in my inventory. The new account that had no friends or games didn't recieve the gift, so while steam figures out my refund I guess I will play multiplayer solo on my account.

If you look at the package details you can see that the second one has the game + the original and the third has the previous bundle + the dlc for the original. If you look at this thread http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/46183-dont-starve-and-dont-starve-together/ it appears that they made that the three options. It seems that someone somewhere forgot to change the descriptions on it since the pre-launch one was there

I repurchased the exact version of the game that I tried to purchase on this account. It worked on that account but not this one, I do not know why it happened that way. As of now I have 3 copies of this game,1 on this account with a pending refund (6 day average from what ive been told) and 2 copies on my main steam account. I cant gift my 2nd coy to this account because steam says I still own it.

The second DST copy is in your steam inventory. At the top of the steam client, hover over your name, scroll down to inventory and click on it. You should see it in there.

This is my main account, the copy of DST was not in my invintory, I requested a refund, and repurchased the game but on this account. The gift did show up in my inventory(only on this account) I can't gift the copy to Monkey_Tuesday because I already have it on the account, until the refund processes in a week.

So wait, the regular copy of DST, is definitely supposed to come with a second copy like it used to? Nothings changed on that front? If so, I guess my purchase was glitched.

I'm having the same issue. I gifted a copy to my brother but there's no second copy for his friend.

i checked my inventory and my friend's inventory... and none of us got it... i need to send to my other friend and it just desapeared. =(

I'm hearing it working for some people but not for others. Does this have to do with the scam protection that steam enabled where you cant trade games withing so many hours/days if you've never bought games before?

if the problem is never bought games before, i dont think so... because i've already bought a lot of games, and i missed my second copy. =/
