Wurt wetness

So at a certain point Wurt was patched so that her being wet didn't effect her sanity, and at another point she was patched so that her wielding/wearing wet things didn't effect her sanity. Obviously.

Moreover, wurt can dive into the ocean with no consequences, and cannot have items slip out of her hands.

Considering this, how in all God's green earth could the fact that she still goes insane from wet items being in her inventory be seen as anything other than an obvious and easily fixed oversight?

Even in the event this was considered some sort of balance "discrepancy" leveled against her, she is a mega lategame weak character whose lategame isn't even the best of people with better early games. And regardless, this alone wouldn't be enough to somehow make a literal merperson, categorically immune to all water related hardship, vulnerable in this one particular isolated way.

Why is Wurt still going insane in the rain? Is this a joke?

Every other "buff" she has in the rain is useless if at the end of the day she still requires rain gear.

What the heck are you talking about?

First of all, no one loses sanity just from having wet items in their inventory. That's just not a thing and it never has been.

Only having wet items equipped drains sanity and Wurt is immune to that as well. And she has been immune to that since, like, 3 days after she was made immune to the innate sanity drain from being wet herself.

Really so wurt loses no sanity from the rain at all? I remember mods existing specifically to combat this issue, but maybe I just misinterpreted it.

When she was first added to the game, Wurt did lose sanity from being wet and wearing wet equipment, as did Wormwood.

But they both stopped losing sanity from wetness itself when Reap What You Sow came out of beta in December 2020. At that time, the devs had forgotten to make them immune to the insanity from wet equipment, but that was rectified within the week.

i think they even changed the wetnes level quotes from the 2 at least wurt quotes are now differend too depending on wetnes level after she got the resist to that

Those quotes are a funny story.

Originally, Wurt lost sanity to wetness, but her quotes implied she liked wetness. Then, the quotes were changed to reflect the sanity loss. Then, she actually stopped losing sanity from wetness, but kept the quotes saying she disliked wetness. And then, at long last, the quotes were reverted to say she liked wetness, since she no longer lost sanity from it. :P

Get a couple of thermal fish too when you can and she can completely ignore seasons. (Scorching Sunfish to keep you warm in winter and in spring, as Wurt still gets cold from being wet. Ice Bream to keep you cool in summer.)

Oh I know that, but those things are my white whales. I spend those whole seasons camping exactly where they are allowed to spawn, and I only ever see the opportunity to catch them like every 3 games I play.

Further, every single time I do, my team is all "AHH OMG JUDGE GET OFF YOUR MAGICAL BOAT RIDE, ALL OF THE ♥♥♥♥ HAS HIT ALL OF THE FANS!" and I never can catch one.

Never gotten any of them even once...
