Rabbit King

There seems to be no way to disable the rabbit king, so I have uninstalled the game. If Klei adds an option in the future to disable the rabbit king, I will play again.

If the issue with it is that you're unable to murder bunnies, there IS a solution: once you collect bunnies from traps, place them into chests and let them die in there.

Once they pass away, you can collect the meat morsels. Rinse and repeat.

Obtaining the meat that way prevents the King from ever spawning.

It does kind of suck when you clean up the rabbits that fall during underground earthquakes while looting the ruins, and you end up spawning a Wrathful Rabbit King. Still, that's not a good enough reason to stop playing, in my opinion . Try asking in the Klei forums; I'm sure the option will be available in the future, just like disabling giants.

when they add things like this to the game, it makes me happy. Its almost expected that anything you get up to will spawn or encourage some other thing happening.

Not sure why they didn’t make a toggle for it, easiest the worst mini-boss in the game with terrible loot. Best bet is waiting for a mod that disables it, ig.

One of Walter's better early game strengths is 1 shotting birds and rabbits with gold ammo and then trading the meat for morsels but now he's not only getting naughtiness for birds but also swiftly summoning this rat

You can easily get the bunny king to lose aggro if you jump into a cave and come back out. Worm hole might work too, but I haven't tried it.

you need to kill a lot of rabbits to even summon him.

And who said only spiders?
There's pigs, koalefants, frogs, batalisks, beefalos
Even the occasional big meat drops from bosses.

There are also recipes that don't need meat, believe it or not

Well, meatballs with monster meat are just as good as meatballs with rabbit meat and frog sandwitch, quite efficient healing food imo(if you have stick farm) does not need any meat other than frog legs.

Hell, just hunt koalefant every few days.

Killing rabbits IS diversifying
Killing birds IS diversifying
Killing spiders is being pidgeonholed because almost every other option either relies on rng to even spawn or is now punished by a boss spawning
Its spiders, farming or fish, that's your diversity

I don't think klei making it a pain in the ass to farm rabbits & bunnymen & by extension krampus was a neccesary change. All it does it make players more likely to go with 'meta' food sources- Plus, the boss is way too difficult when it constantly spawns 900 hp in reinforcements, atleast for the loot it drops and how often it summons. It shouldn't spawn from killing them, all that does is make bunnymen even more useless except for putting 40 down to effortlessly fight beequeen. They already sucked after they nerfed them, and now you cant even farm krampus with them.

It's really not nearly as big as a problem as you're making it out to be, the fight against the king itself is pretty easy and simple, even with just a spear.

It's only really a problem when you do it in the extreme early game ig? But if you murder 20 bunnies before having prepared anything else, that's kinda your own fault
