World Generation taking forever

Hey guys! So I normally whenever I create a world I use a custiom preset that is heaviy edited along with a number of mods. World Generation used to take 2-5 minutes for me. It is still generating and has been going on for about 25 minutes now. Does anyone know why it is taking so long or am I just being stupid?

The mods are most likely the problem. Try to disable them and make a world.

Don't refer yourself as 'stupid', as the updates has clearly destroyed just about half of the mods. Just as what Lux said, disable them and make a world. I would suggest enabling two or three mods at a time, if not, one at a time if any persists. Do be sure to visit the mod you had crashed or unable to generate, and see if they are up-to-date as we speak.

I disabled all mods (server and client-only mods) and it still wont finish generating.

Unistall and reinstall the game has to be the only solution if you have already tried verify game cashe.

It's not the mods, it's the modifications to the world prest.

Make a world with no changes to the preset

I had the same thing happen when I was trying to create a new world using a previously saved custom preset (skeletons and catcoons to more). Loading screen wouldn't stop looping. Creating a new world, manually setting skeletons and catcoons to more did work. I'm guessing something borked custom presets? Anyway, you could give that a try :)

How do you manually do it?

If you have already created the world with custom presets, then you can't do it as it was already implemented. You have to make a new server with default preset. Just test it out and see.
