Offline Mode?

If I purchase a copy of DST for myself and a friend to play via LAN, is it possible to play on different worlds while offline, or is the game absolutely limited to online play? Basically, can I play single player when I don't have internet access, as well as maintain a playthrough with a friend when connected?

In other words, if I want to play on my own offline, and with a friend online, am I required to buy both DS and DST?

you can play single player on dont starve together thats what I do when no friends on

But do you still need to be connected to the internet, or can you still play offline?

You can play offline, but your experience will be slightly different from classic DS singleplayer world (disabled caves for example).

Not entirely true though.. You could start up a dedicated server offline afaik.. It shouldn't be any problem.. Just put this in your settings.ini in documents/klei/...overworld

then run your server as google tells you =)
