You can heal from things like Compost, Manure, etc and in Bloom with the photosynthesis perk you'll heal 1 every 10 seconds during day or near a dwarf star / Willow's fireball.
Or even glands and salves as normal survivors can.
Or of course using Tents and/or Siesta Lean for some heals
If you have an ally Wortox, he can easily heal you and mostly help brush aside not healing from food far easily. In boss battles it can be iffy but he can still heal you, except in Bee Queen where so long as those Bee guards are dying, you'll not have to worry about health since it's likely he's dropping souls constantly from overflow.
His immunity to health damage from food can come in handy with red caps and other damaging food items though its still far from an upside. If you're planning on fighting a large amount of bosses then I'd suggest another character though getting enough healing salves stockpiled for most bosses shouldnt be much of an issue.
The photosynthesis perk is nice, though its a little underwhelming compared to just getting sleeping stuff set up.
Pretty good character though made much better with a Wortox friend like the other reply said; Infinite living logs not to mention not needing healing during fights.
That and bandages are honey + reeds, both super renewable.
