Don't Starve Together

moose goose flying away right before dying
I had her at almost 500 health after pouring everything I had into the fight because two spawned on my base on the second day of spring, I killed the first, and then the second was near death, I was finishing her off with scrap weapons and tools, and then at about 500-600 health she flew away right in front of me while I was hitting her, I can see the nest from where we were fighting because it's in my base, and then she came back with full 6000 health on her nest 5 feet away from where I'm standing still in my base, originally I just brushed it off and tried again, but this was the third time this battle that she's done this to me, does anyone know if there's a way to disable the flying away feature? maybe a mod or in the options menu? it's not a fun mechanic imo. tbc tho it'd be okay if moose goose didn't regain all her health.
found a video making an example of this at 28:50, watch for moose/goose to fly back a few seconds later, and then it happen AGAIN at 34:30

that makes sense, but that just adds to another question, why have her fly away at all? she never goes so far away that she can't just walk back to her nest like she usually does.
either way though, does this mean that the health recovery isn't an intended feature as much as it is a consequence of how they wrote the code?
She flies away (along with her mooslings if alive) at the end of Spring, but she also generally does so when not aggro and let her mooslings just walk around and devour everything. I guess she flies away just so that a player could kill off all the mooslings first, but no point really since mooslings is where most of the good stuff are.

Technically it could be an unintended feature that she flies away mid-fight and regains health, but so far as the game itself is aware, it is intended since it's an entire new thing.
They could technically fix it by having it store a health variable, but... Well I guess there's no point for the weakest boss in the game, right?

Truthfully I've never seen her fly away mid-boss fight, only glitches where she becomes invincible for a little bit and requiring you to move back and try again at hitting her multiple times.

The Child is there? she never run if the child is get harm nearby, and just use frog rain to her no need to fight derectly

Sometimes what I've noticed is that even if the nest is on the same screen as the Goose, it seems to be unwilling to agro onto the player. Maybe it has to do with that.

Yeah, for some reason I feel like it's gotten worse somehow. The unwillingness to agro is something that I haven't had problems with in my first worlds (which were 2 years ago).

the moose goose never run away when the child its harmed but have chance run away when the egg not hatch at all, moose goose its most easy giant to fight cause you no need to fight it let the rain frog do the job

I had killed multiple of the children and with that the egg had also been hatched by the time I had moose/goose on 500-600 health at which she flew away. I know indirectly killing the boss is the most efficient way but I shouldn't have to and don't want to depend on rain frogs to kill something that's in my base and is a boss that's intended to fight the player, also frogs don't fix the problem of moose/goose healing herself, as a matter of fact moose/goose did fight with frogs and hounds too and then recovered all their health back.

changing to Wilson wouldn't make much of a difference I don't think, thank you for the offer tho. I see that it is a matter of proximity to the nest and is preventable, however I'm interested to know if there was any specific reason why it was designed in a way that moose/goose can recover all her health instantly, what purpose does this mechanic serve?

i am Not Sure but if you look how the Nest Spawn at Single Player and Multiplayer its Diffrent, At Single Player There IS Boss Warning, Character quoted like Deerclops, Bearger and Dragonfly and The Goosemoose Spawn nearby Player BASE with her egg kinda teritorial but its never fly away sometimes it will folow you to your base the egg only hatch when you hammer it sometime its caused more goosemoose to appear

But at DST its Spawn at Fixed Location Usually near a pond, That make you thinking twice to chose base location at Single pond and they spawn more than 1 at Diffrent Location, the Goosemoose only present when the egg not hatch and will flew away when the egg hatched and only come when the Child harmed and Very teritorial Creature with higher Hp than singleplayer Counterpart,

its a buff for Multiplayer Environment i could said

The reason why Moose gets all her health back is because the game is technically spawning a new Moose in place of the old one.
