60fps lock regardless of settings
I swear I used to run this game higher than 60fps, but recently I can't get it above 60... which is fine, but it used to be different and now I'm wondering what I did to change it.

the options are set to the monitor refesh 165hz... still only get 60fps.

any ideas?

I never was able to run it in 144 fps for my monitor either. Did you find any solution on that?
One thing I'd previously noticed was that changing it from the option in-game didn't change it in the relevant file in the game directory. Changing it there manually does cause it to remember the change, but it still has no actual effect in-game. On a 144 hz monitor, with both the game's file and the in-game options menu correctly showing the chosen refresh rate of 144 hz, the fps is still capped at 60.

I found this on the Klei forums:
http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/62946-uncap-the-60fps/

In other words, there's currently no way to remove the cap, which begs the question "why is there a setting/option in the game that doesn't actually do anything?" That thread does say they'd consider is as an option, but I was unable to find any reference to them having done so, nor any reference later than that thread dated Jan 20th this year.

So for the time being it looks as if you're limited to 60. That being said, I personally can't see where this game could benefit from anything higher than that. I'm happy playing it at a steady 60, but definitely puzzled at the inclusion of an option that seemingly doesn't do anything at all.

It should benefit greatly with all the contrasting edges. Less ghosting on movement, making crisp and clear.
Personally what I'm seeing is perfectly crisp at 60fps, and I've never experienced any ghosting. YMMV. Good luck figuring out a fix/workaround. :)

You cant tell whether it is the same on 60 and 144 unless you saw them both. If all animations are locked on 60 fps in a particular 2d art style game then it will be mostly the same. But in most games you will see the difference. At least on how smooth your mouse is moving with g-sync enabled. It would be always nice to be able to remove the cap if possible. No doubt about that.

gsync is why i know it would help.. I know 144hz+ isn't the same as gsync, but it gets pretty close to it. I have gsync and a non gsync monitor, this game looks fantastic with gsync, and it just looks ok on the other... so yeah you will absolutely notice it if they unlocked it for higher refresh rates.
