There's no key to type in or anything like that. It's automatically unlocked in the game after you purchase it.

Any DLC you purchase is yours to keep forever (unless you unravel/sell/trade it ofc).

If you purchase the Starter Pack, it will unlock the character in the game for you.
If you already have Wurt, it won't give you a duplicate of the character (cosmetic re-skins/clothing will "stack" in-game to trade/sell if marketable/unravel, but characters don't).

You can also "purchase" characters/clothing/reskins with in-game spools.

You get spools by "unraveling" items you have duplicates of, or just don't want.

-You can get 1 drop each day, just for just logging into the game.

-You can get up to an additional 8 drops per week, if you play long enough, while being in an online server.

-For a maximum, combined total, of 15 items per week.

Drops reset on Thursday at around 2:30 pm PST.

So no money is needed if you obtain enough spools for the item(s)/character you want! :cozybethesda:

the store page explains what you get out of each transaction you want to aim for.

if the characters are all you want, what I highly suggest doing is going to the Steam Market Place for DST, buy as many of the cheapest distinguished/elegant items (depending on which gives you more bang for your buck) and unravel them into spools to weave the character(s).

you will save more money this way while unlocking the whole roster.

however, if you're truly interested in the skins as well, then you can ignore this comment and go straight for the pack you're looking at.

there's no key where you have to manually enter it in Steam to redeem it, unless you happen to get the DLC pack from a third party seller, which I don't recommend in this case.

if your account owns the character(s) and costumes, you will own it forever until you decide to weave those costumes into in-game spools. again, not recommended since that's where most of the pricing comes from.
