Suggestions on what to do in DST
For the first time, I've survived for over 200 days. But, to be honest, It doesn't feel like an accomplishment. I didn't just stay In base and wait for the days to pass. I made a berry farm, grass farm, pig farm, killed the eye and twins of terror, all seasonal and almost all raid bosses, cleared the whole of ruins, killed the shadow pieces, found the moon island, and such.

If you figured out, out of the things I've listed, most of them are "boss related". Only things I built, I built it for survival purposes.

After I kill the final boss in the caves and CC, what then? I'm not much of a base builder (lack of creativity) and repeating bosses over, and over and over again can be tedious.
I don't want to lose interest in this game, but at the same time, I don't see the reason to play anymore.

Any suggestions?

i am playing on 2 maps, one alone another with a friend. no mods but rollbacks for learning reasons. both worlds around 500 days now.
besides mobs killing deerclops, we didnt kill any boss yet. sometimes trying, but not too hard :D

how the heck does one even know about some bosses?
no insult, when i read this.. to me it sounds like "i watched all the guide videos on how to do all the things quickly".
to me, its the fun of surprises from things i didnt expect, whats around the next corner.. like caves - oh there is a different area...

on topic:
on twitch there is a group of people that play with viewers.
BUT their worlds are totally randomised and you have to choose random character too

they also play "DST bingo"
am not too sure about the specifics, but everyone gets the same board and there are tasks on it. like eat a potatoe, find item X, kill a <certain mob> etc.
a quick google brought this mod up: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=719424707
am not sure if its the same.

oh and isnt there PvP mode too?

I suggest finding different ways to challenge yourself to play the game. this can range from playing with certain settings to choosing a specific character and playing them with specific conditions (i.e. play as Wortox without using souls to nourish yourself, play Webber but if all of your followers die your game ends, etc.) to make the game a bit more interesting.

there are also mods you can install to add more variety into your experience, and some of those mods can be a complete game changer.

I suggest "Island Adventures" which basically turns your whole game into Shipwrecked but implemented in DST. it's not a perfect mod but it's still a really good representation of SW, and a completely different way to play DST, especially if you haven't played much SW from the singleplayer DS.

Try to spice up your playthroughs, the easiest way is just to pick random and go with what you get (unless it's wes of course). Another good way to change what you do is to play on public servers, the best being Klei dedicated servers. if you're strictly solo-only, it can be kind of limiting as to what you can do versus what you need to do. If you play on the Klei servers, theres usually people who decide to manage the base (good job not being useless wormwood mains), which leaves you to be able to do new things, such as try to rush lunar, try to make a boat base (funny), or try to play the game with 19 max hp (Khanical what were you thinking?). The people on Klei servers are often fun to play with. Sadly though, the Klei servers don't keep your progress (unless someone stays in it overnight), so that means if you don't like starting from scratch over and over, they may not be for you. But give them a try and see what you think.

Really interesting. I'll try this one. I'll also try to build something pretty for once. Thank you.

then go and teach new players what the heck it is they are suposed to do??
lots of clueless noobs in this community... there is no real tutorial in the game after all.

Meanwhile I saw a swamp once and then tentacles killed me as the fishmen joined in.

I actually forced a free copy onto my friend and made him play the game with me. So, I was teaching him for quite some time... to bad that time was wasted (yes, actually wasted).

Found out he has 0 interest in the game and I think that I made it worse with my bad teaching skills... What's the point of this comment? There's literally no point... I'm just salty for being a bad teacher while having little over 1000 hours in this game...

aww.. maybe its just not his type of game... be glad he at least tried it out.

in another game i play, helping and being nice is the uppermost thing. there is no way to communicate with words, only some sounds and body language.
sometimes i help, player is satisfied and just leaves.. leaves me alone with thoughts like "what did i do wrong? did i insult you somehow.. :(". then i clinge to: i did my best...
since i am a big fan of the game, i tend to push people into trying this and that, overwhelming them with info in the hope it sparks their interest... :(
