Do Tentacle Spikes count as 'meat' in the code? (Aggressive Bunnymen)
IIRC bunnymen get aggressive when you pick up meat near them, but recently I had it that they go aggressive when i put away the tentacle spike I was holding near them.
Is this related to the 'picking up meat' or is there another cause to that?

Tentacle spikes should not count as meat.

What else did you have in your inventory?

The most common one that people don't realize is eggs are considered meat, maybe you had some of those?

just tested this. spikes do not trigger bunnymen because they aren't considered meat, even though they come purely from a monster with meat.

you must've had some form of meat on you. eggs are included as meat, as ButterStuffed said.

I only had lightbulbs, red caps and fern with me, aside from my tools (miners hat, pickaxe, axe and the tentacle spike)

What character are you playing as?
Cause that also matters.

I 100% forgot to factor this in as well.

@OP

If you were playing as Wortox, Webber and/or Wurt (I believe), bunny men will auto aggro onto them as well, regardless if they have meat or not

Been playing as Wilson. Thinking back the only meat I -had- I had just fed to my kittykit, but that was one or two biomes over...

Are you using any mods?
wurt doesn't get attacked by teenbirds, catcoons, bunnyman, frogs.

she only gets beat up by pigs because of the pig - merm rivalry.

Did they saw you trap a bunny?
No mods, no trapping, no meat except for a few biomes over. Oh, also I think the nightmare time was active or just stopped?

if you were not playing as a non-humanoid character, nor had any meat items on you, nor had any mods that altered bunnyman behavior, then I really don't know what could be the case here. I'm not confident if nightmare induced bunnymen are auto aggro, so I won't completely rule out that possibility or confirm it.

but if they were simply regular bunnymen while going with the confirmed conditions described, then there's no way you could've auto aggro'd them with just a tentacle spike alone.

Thank you. well, there's only two possibilities: Either I had meat and didn't notice, or this is a ultra rare bug on the 'endless climbing and dying' bug from... damn I forgot which game it was.

So i just ran up to Bunnymen in my recent world with a Tentacle spike in my hand and in inventory.

No hostile reaction from them on my end.

pfffr. XD
yeah yeah, okay, it was on me. But hey, I put it away, so it's on them for attacking me for showing I was not interested in fighting. Rude.
(But seriously, that was a weird one)
