Character randomly freeze with pick up animation while picking up items

It can happen to me in any pick up case like once per 40-300 pick up cases, any items on a floor. Sometimes I die because of it. The character stuck for a 1-3 seconds.

The client mods that I use is info status and auto queue tasks.
I would say it can be not related with client mods, because it happens to my friends too who use different client mods.
I play only server vanilla.

As I remember it never happen to me earlier. Last time I played before was like 1 y. ago.
Help me to figure out how to fix this issue.

this is (likely) a problem with Lag Compensation. When you have it enabled, it tries to show you where you would perceive yourself if there was no lag. Unfortunately, lag still exists, so while you may appear somewhere, on the actual server you may be a bit behind. That can result in slingshotting, being unable to kite well, or, like you stated here, items taking a few extra seconds to be picked up. I would recommend disabling Lag Compensation. While you may feel laggier than you have before, what you will be seeing is accurate to what the server is seeing you as.

Yes. This game starts a local server (or servers if you have both Forest and Caves enabled)
And the game is very picky of what runs in the background so some programs/services may cause some "lag" in your worlds especially if you have caves enabled too.

I am getting it too, very rarely just like you. Like alucard says, the game starts a local server through you but even you are a client on it. You'll run into random miscommunications very rarely but that's just how the game is. My advice? Don't go picking up items while you're chased hehe

On personal note i don't have problem with lag in my solo huge worlds with caves.
It's only a noticable problem when i'm on someone's server or on pubs.

And my PC isn't even that great it's quite old.

I do keep my background programs running to absolute bare minimum.
Last thing i need is some bloatware causing problems in some games.

No it's not "getting used to" i never had any input lag on my solo worlds in DST from the very start. Only on public servers or server hosted by a buddy this was noticable.

I felt no change when switching from DST to DS at all.

I said Solo not Offline.
Solo meaning i am playing alone in my world.

Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Christ why everyone talks to me like i am insane when i say i DO NOT HAVE input lag while playing solo on my worlds in DST.

I get it it's a common problem but NOT everyone has it i know others that also never had any input lag in DST even when playing alone on their Huge worlds with Caves.

It depends on many factors your hardware , your background programs etc.
I do not have that problem on this PC. Simple as that.

Could be that i don't have much unecessary programs running in the background , could be that i set Steam to lowest priority before playing could be the outdated OS i am using that somehow matters (Win 7)

Don't know. I hope that "luck" stays when i get a new PC "soon".
