Whats the difference between Dont Starve Together and Dont Starve?
Do people buy this and play solo? Does this game have all the expansions as the original?

It's solo-ishable. Bosses do have more health than in DS but you can adjust that with Workshop mods if you wish.

DST has some own unique biomes, items, enemies, bosses, events and mechanics. DST doesn't have the Shipwrecked and Hamlet DLCs even though I think there are mods available or in the works by the community to bring that content over. The characters in DST also work a bit differently and there are some QoL changes that afaik haven't made it into DS yet, like the (in my opinion) better crafting U.I. and other smaller controls/usability improvements. You can also not adjust the looks of your character in DS, DS hasn't got cosmetics in the way DST features them. (In the base game you only have hats and armor/clothing to change up looks a bit, but that's primarily used to survive combat or environmental hazards.) Some setpieces and items from DS have never made it into DST, like "Old Bell", primarily because they had been or would be tremendously easy to grief people with. I think DS also still has disease mechanic on plants? Someone correct me please if wrong.

The "Adventure" mode from DS is completely missing in DST. I don't think it's a huge deal, generally the "story" if you want to call it that in both games is only a faint buzzing in the background as is typical for these survival games. There is some lore, some consistency, some people like to indulge themselves in it, KLEI seems pretty dedicated to also maintain background stories for their characters and continue them every now and then a little bit. But again, it's all very background-ishy. DST chronologically takes place after the events of DS, but that has relatively little impact on the general experience, you might as well just read those things up in a few minutes on some Wiki or something and be done with that.

So TL:DR, imho if you aren't shy to maybe use a few Workshop mods you'll have a fairly solo-able, same-y, "fuller" and in terms of controls and usability somewhat better experience in DST. I personally rarely see the point of returning to DS unless I'm deciding to play Shipwrecked or Hamlet.

DS is more solo oriented with how the game balances the enemy health pools. certain mechanics like fire burning and armor stacking also work differently in comparison.

DST is more multiplayer oriented with some enemies and giants having more health than their DS counterpart. it also has exclusive content and recipes that aren't available in DS.

DST plays off of the RoG DLC from the original DS, but lacks SW and Hamlet. still, there are mods that replicate those expansions and ports it over, with some limitation and occasional bugs, of course.

both games are easily playable solo, but I suppose this is more player dependent. 90% of my hours in DST have been in solo worlds of mine. once you know how to properly kite enemies, you'll be able to tackle a huge amount of threats the game throws at you.
