How are you supposed to beat crab king solo?

I spent over 2 hours and a half trying to beat him. On every attempt, I'd completely use up 6 ice staffs, 2 weatherpains and 40 boat patches and I still couldn't even get him below 11k hp... What am I supposed to do here? This is literally just a repeat of ancient fuelweaver again with unbearable amounts of tankiness, obnoxiously high healing(he already has over 20k hp... WHY CAN HE HEAL IN THE FIRST PLACE?!!) And miniscule attack windows while being bombarded by smaller enemies. At least with fuelweaver i could use gunpowder but that's not even an option here. Why does fighting so many of the bosses in this game have to be such a tedious, annoying and unenjoyable experience? I can count the number of bosses I've actually enjoyed fighting on one hand. Is there any way for me to kill him that doesn't involve me just sitting around for 40 minutes watching bees slowly whittle him down?

well gotta say I hate the crab king fight too! there is no reason to fight him exept for the "Celestial Tribute". about how to beat it solo, if you want to use the ice staffs and weather pains, then that's about skill and be quick to switch between the right tools, also it requires almost perfect placement for boat (which is really annoying sometimes) using that strat one mistake can lead to- you know. In any other way, I don't know what character you play has, because one of the easiest way I know to kill crab king is required to be webber, then tame has many sea striders has you can (sea strider is the water spider) and then send them angaist crab king, then position yourself not too far from crab king and neither too close, so he can't use the freeze ability, and about the healing ability you shouldn't worry, since the sea striders will cancel that ability, if you are playing something like wilson then craft has many "bee mines" and use them near crab king, it will happen same thing has the sea striders, but might be more expensive to do, also if you are using bee mines angaist crab king during spring, I recomend you bring yourself a pan flute. there are some other ways like using rabbits or pigs, but are a lot of complicated and time consuming to execute. I play as woodie and have been using the void cowl/shadow reaper combo for this fight. 107 damage per hit still isn't enough to take him down apparently. I'll try using the bee method as I have no other choice at this point since trying to beat him normally isn't working. Wish me luck. Hopefully celestial champion won't be this bad and obnoxious.

ok cool, don't worry for me celestial champion is a pretty cool boss fight (and more fair since he doesn't spawn in more enemies), but I recomend you bring a weather pain (yea again) and some food that lows sanity during the fight, since can make things kinda easier, also since you play has woodie, which was one of the recently updated characters, I recomend you spend his skill points, in the "Moose" skill tree, since if you master it when you are a moose, every third hit you deal like 136 damage, which is like using a dark sword has Mighty Wolfagang. If you haven't seen any video about celestial champion fight, im not gonna say anything else about him :), oh almost forgot, Good luck!

I've managed to kill the crab king using bee mines. It took several attempts as many of the bee mines wouldn't detonate until i picked them up and re-deployed them again for some reason and because my boat got sunk several times by the claws until I managed to find an area far enough that they couldn't reach my boat but still close enough that I could hit the crab king with my ice staff. At least it's over now. I NEVER want to do that again. Dear lord what an awful boss fight. I already have all the insight points for woodie. I have all the moose skills and mastery, the chopping and mining skills for the beaver, all the curse timer and curse embracer skills as well as all the treeguard feller skills and shadow affinity. I have the skill that lets me make boards with less wood too.(I didn't get any of the weregoose skills because it's garbage lol)

I'll be using the void armor set and shadow reaper against celestial champion. The shadow reaper lowers sanity/enlightenment when using it like similar to how a dark sword does so I won't have to worry about having high enlightenment anyways. The shadow reaper also does 107 damage per hit to enemies with lunar alignment when combined with shadow affinity and the void armor set, so hopefully that'll make the boss fight easier.

Thanks man, i appreciate it. I've already placed down the 3 altars and have started preparing to fight celestial champion. I might have to do it as wilson instead of woodie though because every night is a full moon now.
