It will "pacify" the spiders associated from that den and they won't destroy your walls (or attack allies or players).
Keep in mind if they are attacked by anything including you. The decorating kit will "break" and you will have to reapply it. So walling off the den itself might be a good idea too if you plan on using the deco kit.
However if you want the den to double as defense against hounds and such then this idea goes out of the window and you will be better off just moving the den somewhere else. Take note den spiders can wander very far.
An alternative solution is to remove the walls. Walls aren't really useful in most situations. I guess it can be used to funnel all the creatures into one spot, or serve as an early warning system, but in any case you are still going to have to fight (or have the spiders fight) whatever is coming in your walls. I guess you could be using the walls for decoration, but at your point in the game you should prioritize function over form.
