Why do people auto kick/ban newcomers?

Why not just password your server if its private instead of banning and kicking new people thats looking to HELP you survive most likely. Something needs to be done about it

Getting ignored and randomly kicked for no reason is a big reason I don't play in random servers anymore.

I think these types of players should be punished. They are toxic and should password protect their server if they don't want help from randoms.

This is 100% true, id rather play normal DS. ITS better anyway

Sadly the new vote system in DST show how many ignorant or asshat people actually play this game. Its sad really. Hard to find willinful , kind and helpful people on dedicated servers. Its really 1 in a million chances ;-;

Because they have already invested hours in a world, it's the middle of winter or summer and they can't help newcomers who will instantly get killed then hang around as ghosts haunting stuff and draining everyone's sanity because they don't know any better. I've been just about to fight deerclops when dopes like this come along and say "Help me now! Right now! Come to the portal and save me and then feed me and give me all your stuff!"

Other times, players have just had a griefer burn down their base or steal everything, so they do not trust you.

I'm sure there are other, worse reasons to instakick someone, but here's a tip: Don't try to join a game in winter or summer unless you are fully prepard to survive on your own. This game is challenging and you're just making it harder on everyone unless you arrive when the world is fairly new or during a season when you can survive on your own for a few days.

Just quickly restart the server and turn one of those on in the options.

If getting kicked for no reason is unacceptable, then joining a game uninvited isn't for you.

Then they should use password and not make it public. Plus if people is paranoid that every single person is out to destory their base or feeling like another person is a burden , then this game isnt for them. Just stick with single player dont starve

I started a socail world Misty Lavender Grove, had people join and then leave...MY FAULT they would talk to me and I didn't know how to answer them back. My husband laught at me of coarse, but thats ok . He showed me how.

Your title is unspecfic: I presume you mean for a 'priviate' but not passworded server, like a non-dedicated gameserver.

However, I will give this answer: In Keli offical servers, when you have a ghost sanity draining, or someone is picking all the flowers first day...
