And when you need craft some less common item or specific crafting category like boat attachements, structures for base decoration or things for gardering - you have to open big menu and squeze your eyes, looking up for 30 sec.
It's very akward to use this new crafting menu. It really needs ability to put crafting tabs in pins.
Also make crafting menu don't take so much space from your screen and increase size of icons too.
The crafting menu is only part if it, but yeah. Not happy with what they've turned DST into.
The new crafting menu is not very friendly when you are trying to make an armor or weapon while fighting... it blocks about 20-25% of the screen.
I think the reason that you don't like the new menu is because you don't know what items are there in each section.
I think the new crafting menu is more intuitive, finding all items in just one page. This is more relax than the old menu, fingers hurt after using the mouse wheel for a long time
All those scrolling down just for one walking cane is gone!
I suffered the same problem with you, but I got used to it and realized how intuitive the new sorting is. So try switching the settings to pause when crafting

I like pinned crafts better cause I can press (,) and (.) to switch between pinned tabs. As you get used to what you need the most and how pinned tabs work, you won't be using the whole craft UI that much.
Search function and customizable pinned tabs is what sells it for me.
Some of these new organizations are good, like the tabs specifically for winter clothes, etc. But others, I dunno, I just end up going "screw it" and type the name because I can't find it in the tab it used to be in, or any of the others.
It's probably just a "getting used to it" issue, but for me it's just a lot more tedious to find things. I wish they'd kept all the items in the same tabs they used to be in before the update.
Size hasn't bothered me much really, but well, thats only me.
Besides that, you can still display all and then use the search bar in order to navigate to the item you want. Ofc, this most likely won't work while in combat, but if you really need someting here you haven't already placed onto a quickslot, there most likely something went wrong during the preperation.
I spent 10 min setting them up and I barely open the crafting tab anymore.
I find the crafting menu better, but it isn't beginner friendly.
