After destroying pighouses , first helmets or other pighouses?

Hello,

I often see people destroying pighouses for helmets , but then i ask myself : Shouldn't I make pighouses first somewhere close to me so i have unlimited pigs and make helmets out of the skin they drop?
or do pighouses respawn and are there a lot on the map?
should i even destroy pighouses?
I'm very new to this game so i'd like some information on what to do.

Also in my last play session i could'nt even attack the pigs? nor could i destroy spider nests eventhough i can attack everything els so far i know. I played as Wilson , does that have anything to do with it?

Pig houses don't respawn, but there are usually plenty in a world. You should have enough to do both. Especially with the pig heads scattered in the swamps or near the touchstones.

You can also get more pigskin by starting pigwars or killing werepigs.

Try ctrl+f clicking on the pig to attack it.

Never destroy pig houses. It's much smarter to farm few spiders for 4 monster meat. And whenever you see a pig house u can feed the pig 4 mm to turn it to a werepig. Werepigs guarantee 2 big meat and 1 pig skin. So then simply u can farm and make huge pig village wherever your main base is. Pigs spawn relativelly fast and endless werepig farm is best.

People destroying pig houses on public servers are selfish jerks. Especially when they don't even bother rebuilding them near helpful points.

And no pig houses don't spawn often ( on default) in worlds. There are some griefers out there who are very quick in burning / destroying all them on public worlds.
I consider them more valuable than gears TBH. U can never have enough pig skin to outfit big party with helmets + umbrellas. So destroying houses is big jerk move.

I make one or two helmets first, then I build around 5 pig houses near my base to help me destroy t3 spider dens, and queens as well as farming them for skin and meat. I try to get spider eggs asap so I can place a nest around the pigs for to farm, then I can feed them monster meat and kill the werepigs.

I typically do this on public servers where people aren't dedicating themselves to the world beyond day 30. Even then I often break down 2, enough to the boards and cut stone for an alchemy engine.

If you are planning to stay in the world a while, then farming werepigs is better.

Break houses: Short Term
Farm Pigs: Long Term

My general rule is houses first and houses asap to make helmets from the slaughter. They're non-renewable if you break them so its unwise to just use it before you can make more.

Pighouses don't respawn.

You can destroy the ones spread across the map in random isolated spots, because no one is going to go out of their way to visit those constantly anyways. The ones concentrated in villages though should never be destroyed unless you have a superbase you're planning on adding houses to.

You shouldn't even need to worry about destroying them for Helmets in the first place. Just look for touch stones or explore the swamps for pig heads and you'll have enough pigskins for a year's worth of helmets.

You shouldn't really worry about making pig farms until late game either way, it's not needed upfront and by that point you can easily just farm existing pigs for the skins to make those houses anyways. The immediate resources gained from destroying random pig houses are more valuable.

Thats the problem , i cant use cntrl f on both of those , also when i hover above it with my mouse it doesnt say attack or something . Might have been a bug orso , ill check next session
