It doesn't really matter though because even with 2x HP they can still be solo'd easily. There's not much difference between a 2k and 4k hp Deerclops other than taking slightly more preparation and time to kill.
DST has some unique group bosses with 20k-100k HP (Dragonfly, Bee Queen, Toadstool, Fuel Weaver, etc), but you can just avoid them since they're entirely optional and usually have to be manually summoned. Even then some people still manage to fight them with things like gunpowder and bunny followers.
TLDR:
The game is slightly more difficult as a solo experience but still entirely doable. I would buy it over Don't Starve because it has more content outside of DLC.
